The thread about the Honda lawnmowers got me thinking about how much I love Honda equipment. Here is a partial list:

2002 Honda Rubicon 500 ATV. Bought new. It has the exact same Yuasa starting battery it had when I bought it in late 2001. It gave me scare last winter when I had to jump start it when it hadn't been run for a month. I bought a new battery and it is still sitting on the shelf in the garage. Other than changing the oil and filter, literally the only other things I have had done is align the front end and get the valves adjusted. We use it for spraying weeds in the summer, plowing snow in the winter, and it never misses a beat.

2003 EU3000i generator. I run the crap out of this thing, including running the AC on my 5th wheel and it never complains, always starts, and uses ridiculously small amounts of fuel.

2002 Honda 919 motorcycle. 0-60 in 3 flat and gets 48 mpg. In 40K miles, never in the shop.

2013 Accord. Probably the most trouble-free car I ever had. On a 3 year lease, all I ever did was change the oil. Never in the shop. 2017 replacement has the same boring reliability and gets 47 MPG down to Salt Lake and back.

Even the Chinese knock-off of a Honda on my wheel line mover is stone reliable.

My day job is running a small trucking company. How I wish Honda made semis. These Freighliners are going to bankrupt me.

I've had nothing but great luck with Honda's I've owned over the years.......

1980 XL250S, 1982 650 Custom, 1986 Big Red, 1999 450 Foreman, EB300c and EU200i. The only ones I still own are the last two, both generators.

All bought new except the EU200i........

My favorite Honda was a 4 cylinder 74 CB750 in plum color. Loved that bike and should have never let it go.

My 11 year old Honda Rancher isn't even broken in yet.

Had two Honda 4 Trax before that. They ran like new when I sold them... They were old, and had many, many hours on them.

I have a 300 Fourtrax too, wow, what a machine. Goes anywhere and never breaks down!

I'm surprised they haven't got into pickups.

I'd always had good luck with Honda stuff, from the 196? motorcycle to cars, outboards, various small engines, you name it. Then I had a 2001 or 02 500 cc Rubicon. I loved the way it worked, great machine...until one day the transmission just self-destructed a long way from home on a frozen river....long hike home to get another quad to pull it back. Honda pretty much told me to go suck eggs, it was out of warranty....I ended up putting near a couple of grand in a machine worth about 3 or 3.5 at the time....left me with a bad taste for Honda...gave it to my brother...I'll stick with Yamaha quads now.

They made it only for one year. Great bike.

A couple years after Honda introduced the 750 4 cyl, my best buddy was in the navy stationed on a carrier off Nam. He had some R&R in Japan and wrote to me saying that the navy had a deal where he could get me one from the factory at barely above cost and bring it home on the ship. Groan! I was still in college and had a hard time feeding myself, let alone buy a bike even at that price.

have a '96 Honda 300x.

Thing has been thru hell and back - hold in the case, oil leaked out, previous owner JB welded it together.

I put some rings in it and it runs like a champ. and I treat it like crap, leave old gas in it, change the oil maybe once every 2 years.

Had a 86 Honda 250 ..a TRX I think. Thing was a tank, sold it and wish I hadn't.

Have 2 Honda TRX350D. In various states of repair, My winter project is to make one good one out of the 2, and get rid of those Polaris things I have now.

They make great motors, my generator is so quiet
Posted By: Raeford Re: I Heart Honda - 04/19/17
Started out on a XR75 mx at the ripe age of 8, then a CR175 at 15. Next was a TRAX300 bought new in 96, it's still going strong at my sons abode. I want it back but he'll never let go. He just kinda quietly 'took it' when he moved out.
First Honda car was a 93' Accord SE I bought about 10 years ago and should have never sold.
Now my daily driver is a 14 CRV, love it.

2006 Honda Rubicon and a 2008 Honda Civic for me..
Posted By: JTman Re: I Heart Honda - 04/19/17
I had a 92 or 93 FourTrax years ago, currently have an 04 Rubicon that I bought brand new. There's close to 5k miles on that thing and have done nothing but change oil every year and replaced the battery a couple of times (and of course tires). I might have changed the plug once but I honestly don't remember if I did.

I had an 03 Gold Wing I bought used, had for several years and sold. I'll have another one someday.

Currently have a 14 Civic that I bought new. It has roughly 45K on it and I've got a front bearing or something making a little noise right now but other than that My Honda's have been rock solid.

Got a '73 CL350. Rebuilt the engine a few years back. Ride it to work May- November. Hondability!

I have a 2000 honda foreman 450 and as of saturday a 2009 honda pilot.
Posted By: cabindweller Re: I Heart Honda - 04/19/17
I bought a 1985 Honda Accord 5 speed hatchback with 155,000 miles in 1995 for $500 from a friend. Sold it in 1998 with 210,00 for $500. I drove it three days a week from Hovland MN to Thunder bay Ontario, and down to Duluth every other weekend during that time. It was also my daily driver to work in Grand Portage. That car was great in the snow and cold. It started right up in -20f to -30f and ran perfectly the whole time I had it. It worked flawlessly through record cold temperatures down to -45f+ in Feb of 1996. It got 40mpg most days at hwy speeds. I could easily fit a good sized deer and hunting gear in the back. The only thing I ever did to it was to replace the tires. It was one of the most trouble free vehicles I have ever owned, on par with my 2002 Toyota Tundra.

Bought a 2500 Honda generator to build our cabin in 2000, and have used it to run our cabin off grid since.

I have two Honda lawn mowers, one for home and one for the cabin, as well as a 9.9 honda outboard. All have been great, trouble free machines.

Tom, if you see this I am looking for used older Pilot now to replace my wife's 2004 Suburban within the next year or two. If I may ask, what ballpark are you getting yours for?

I have great luck with Yamaha as well with my 2007 Grizzly 450 and 2.5 outboard.

Had a 1970 CB350, red and white like yours, and still consider it one of the best motorcycles I ever owned. Light weight, easy to ride, easy to stop, plenty of power once it hit 6,000 rpm (it redlined around 11,500 IIRC) and bulletproof reliable.

Ours is a 2009, has 60k miles, and the interior is nearly flawless. Picked it up for $15k. It's really comfy to ride in so far. I'll test it out on 4hr trip on Sunday.

Haha. That 'incident' did make me feel a bit bad for the 'treatment' and neglect she was subject to. In my defense however, I put her away late on a wet, nasty Sunday evening that fall.... after spending Friday evening, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday shuttling a salvage crew and Coasties back and forth to an old gold-seeking tug which had wrecked on a reef a few miles out in order to remove petro-fluids still on board. Wet from every direction was a preface to a cold front which hit on Sunday night and 'popsicled' the boat and motor, so we just dragged 'er up and put 'er away. You could walk out to that wreck (on the ice) before the following weekend.

It's been a great motor on an even better skiff. The guys at the Boatshop set me up with it, and rather than push one of their new ones on me when I went to see what might be a likely replacement some day, they suggested that my old carbed motor was perhaps as good as the newer model of that motor, and I might as well run it as long as it wasn't giving much trouble.

Yes, my bad. Thanks.

That would make a big difference. Ha!

I was going to say it was heavy but very strong. If it was a 100cc,nobody would have believed me.

I have three 4th gen honda accords (1990, 1990, 1993) each in same Seattle silver color.
Senior has 465k, junior 300k and trey at mid 250s. I got senior from my sister in law at about 140k, rest were mine. Great car, still going strong.
Also have a 2008 honda rancher atv that has been great and currently shopping for a rubicon maybe next month.

I looked at the Ridgeline while at the dealership. Not because I'm interested in buying one, but because I had a few minutes to kill and it was there. The one on the showroom floor was the "Black Edition". Everything murdered out as the kids say. It was a good looking vehicle. A bit more truck looking than the first generation. But I'm not sure I'd call it a truck. I sure wouldn't haul much in it. For a vehicle of that size, I'd get a Tacoma, Frontier, or Colorado.

I will say, the interior's are damn comfortable in these Honda's and that one was no different.
