And I drive 5 hours to hunt.

We haven't seen the father yet this year.

"Someone's" thinnin' the bucks...
Just look at all dem bishes.
Do they hang around for the conversation? grin
There's a tasty lookin' nubbin in there.

Deer here are still all over acorns.

No corn brings 'em in.
We have a bunch of redneck poachers around here. We usually have a few nice bucks each year, but very nocturnal.
This young guy has visited yearly and since I see no more young ones like him he isn't passing a bad gene.

Our deer are kinda small in size 120-185lbs.

Just looked out stand window. Small buck

If you want to see big buck photos I can cut and paste a bunch. I just posted a photo of our small deer and fawns in our yard.

Never had that problem in my small "1 acre" fishing pond. Our regular ducks are here now.

My point? Hmm. I guess it’s the same stupid point that you make.
People drive long distances to hunt wild animals that may be in there own back yard.
GFY. 😎
Got this buck out back this evening.

He wasn't out the back window though. Would have been handier if he had been... wink

Got him with my full-semi-automatic Death Ray! laugh

But not a 30-06. wink

He's actually pretty fit.

He just needs clipped pretty badly. Been putting that off because of the cool weather we're having now.

Hey, Jeff, some of us Texicans have a bed in our two or three room deer stand overlooking our protein feeders. It helps with quality game management which i see properly exhibited in that picture. wink

Hey Toddy,
Glad you have a few little creatures. My Grandson said he saw several in his 4.5 years at WVU. Beautiful country.
Posted By: Toddly Re: From our bedroom window. - 11/16/18
Both of my kids graduated from WVU. I wish they were smart enough to do it in 4.5 years. ☹️

Fortunately football paid for it. He was able to graduate with a double major, but the best part is the beautiful sweet and hard working young lady he brought back with him.
His favorite place in West Virginia.

Don't give up on them, I'll bet they are fine.
Posted By: Toddly Re: From our bedroom window. - 11/16/18
Oh they’re fine now. Both have good jobs and supporting themselves. It’s hard to keep a mountaineer down.

There was a point there....
Wasn't sure, based on the thread title, if this was a story about looking in or out from your bedroom window.
How about another. Maybe we have a buck around. We don't have size though.

That's a pretty decent buck in my book. How about that 12 pointer you had on camera last year or the year before. You think he's still around.

Butch, I don't get it. you live maybe 10-15 miles East of the Metroplex and have more deer around than I do and I live over a 100 miles from that place and we have more forest land.
Group of deer out front this morning. Wasn't paying much attention to them until I heard a buck grunting several times...

I've only heard that a couple times before. Sure enough, a big buck was on the trail of a doe. Not enough time to get a rifle out before he went over the tank dam.

We are actually 30 miles east of Garland, just about 15 miles north of Terrell. Our area (Poetry) is heavily wooded with Blackjack, Post Oak, water oak, hickory, elm, and cedar among others that I haven't tried to identify.
Walked in the house a few minutes ago to see when we were going to eat. Looked out the kitchen window and saw a buck running with his nose down. He went down our driveway and to the left on the property between the 2 draws that feed our fishing pond. He came back out and headed into the woods behind my neighbors house. I believe they are in rut. Normally it would be next week after Thanksgiving. Our cooler weather has come in early this year.
Posted By: Alagator Re: From our bedroom window. - 11/19/18
Blacktail rut is in full swing in SW Oregon. Look at the neck on this little 3x3 that was bedded in my backyard yesterday morning. That haze is a combination of fog and the smoke from California's Camp fire.
