Would I be out of line if I took this out of the kitchen window?

That's a pretty decent buck in my book. How about that 12 pointer you had on camera last year or the year before. You think he's still around.

Spring?

Yeah, probably. It's been held prisoner by photobucket for so long I've forgotten.

Think I’ll use the back door instead.

I haven't seen him this year yet.

Butch, I don't get it. you live maybe 10-15 miles East of the Metroplex and have more deer around than I do and I live over a 100 miles from that place and we have more forest land.

Group of deer out front this morning. Wasn't paying much attention to them until I heard a buck grunting several times...

I've only heard that a couple times before. Sure enough, a big buck was on the trail of a doe. Not enough time to get a rifle out before he went over the tank dam.

We are actually 30 miles east of Garland, just about 15 miles north of Terrell. Our area (Poetry) is heavily wooded with Blackjack, Post Oak, water oak, hickory, elm, and cedar among others that I haven't tried to identify.

Walked in the house a few minutes ago to see when we were going to eat. Looked out the kitchen window and saw a buck running with his nose down. He went down our driveway and to the left on the property between the 2 draws that feed our fishing pond. He came back out and headed into the woods behind my neighbors house. I believe they are in rut. Normally it would be next week after Thanksgiving. Our cooler weather has come in early this year.

Blacktail rut is in full swing in SW Oregon. Look at the neck on this little 3x3 that was bedded in my backyard yesterday morning. That haze is a combination of fog and the smoke from California's Camp fire.
