Internet anonymity combined with "anything goes" from the moderator leads to a lot of keyboard cowboys posting. You'll have zero problems if you try courtesy with everyone and develop a thick skin towards the guys with something to prove to everyone.
There are lots of great guys here with a wealth of information to share....like anything else in life, pick and choose whom you wish to listen to.
You need a thick skin, the ability to ignore insults from buffoons, with a dash of GFY thrown in without posting it. Just look it some of the characters as entertainment.
As wild and woolly as it gets here, I personally prefer a forum where I can speak my mind and others can too. All the "just be nice" PC crap is a pandora's box...once that crap begins there is no end to the inhibition and prohibition.

i was going to sign up for advanced trtmnts of testosterone injections, but my doctor said i didn't need it. she said the risks far out weigh the rewards.
but there were plenty of other doctors out there that would likely sell me the injections for a fee.
i just hate un-controlled anger. lot's of highway incidents related to road rage. cars?

If you can filter through the handful of trolls that frequent these forums, and their tagalong posse, there are lots of good folks with a wealth of information. Amazingly, a couple of the aforementioned trolls have the among the most posts in the history of this board. The likely source of the perpetual redasss is probably due to the fact they haven't accomplished much in their miserable lives.

There’s a lot of smack talk here but by and large this place has so many good men. Through the PM system there’s a lot of compassion and caring men that reach out to converse without the drama of the open forum.
I’ve certainly had my dust ups through the years but it’s tempered over time by the outpouring of support and words of encouragement. There’s very, very few men here that I wouldn’t be pleased to meet in person. That includes guys I’ve been spitting mad at times but the reality is that there’s so many good guys here and we all are prone to be asses at times myself included.

Thanks Beaver10 I appreciate the kind words. I believe there’s a bit of a learning curve to online forums, especially high quality ones like the campfire where RicBin allows us to self monitor. He’s a bit of an enigma in the online forum world and I appreciate his hands off approach. I’ve been a member of several forums over the years and slowly found them unsuitable to my tastes. The campfire is the only one that I regularly read and participate in because there really are more good men here than any other forum I’ve been a part of.
The incredible wealth of information is astounding and the knowledge here is incomparable to any other forum. Most questions will be answered freely and truthfully by men with the experience and expertise to do so. Of course there will be the bullshit artists and attention whores with nothing to add to the discussion but it’s easier to ignore their posts and focus on those that are genuine in their response.
It’s easy to sign up with a chip on your shoulder so that one can “set the [bleep]” straight. Over time and as we get to “know” each other better we realize that many of the “[bleep]” have the same general views as ourselves and that they’re generally pretty decent guys. I think the hardest part of the learning curve,and one that some will never be able to master, is not responding to every post or poster that gets under your skin. It creates a chain reaction that often doesn’t work out like we thought it would.....ask me how I know. 😂

Most guys who are into hunting and sport shooting are white men. Who takes more schitt these days then white men, especially white men who hunt? One step further, hunters who are white and who live in flyover country, who take even more schitt.
I think white men just want to be left alone to live as they choose to live, however the rest of the country seems intent on not letting that happen, the country just keeps coming at them.
I try to just tune it out so as to not let it bring me down, and that includes time spent on the 24HCF. I used to visit here everyday, now it is not uncommon for me to keep clear weeks at a time. It's tough enough to live in CA these days, I grew tired of coming here and taking schitt about it...not that anyone is wrong, just what is the point in always having it thrown in your face?

😁....Maybe but I think that there’s more posturing, like alpha males are prone to do, than anything even remotely considered “bad”. I believe that most of the guys here are truly caring guys. It’s been glaringly evident anytime there’s a military man or young boy that needs something, the men here jump at the chance to do good without wanting any recognition. If a young man doesn’t have a positive male influence in his life and has an interest in hunting these guys will outfit him from rifle to binoculars to clothes and everything in between. My attitude has evolved for the better because of the good hearts, good hearts that speak louder than the blustery words and surly posts. I suppose it’s a matter of perspective and that perspective gets skewed when we focus on the negative. Life can be tough enough without manufacturing malice for those that are eerily similar to ourselves.
I’ll take bleeding hearts over calloused hearts every time as long as those hearts are bleeding for the right reasons. I think the threads that personally bother me the most are when one denomination of Christians demeans another simply because they think their way is better. Watching some of that pious behavior makes me scratch my head and wonder what God thinks about us fighting over what often amounts to minutiae. We lose sight of what binds us and that’s never a good thing in my opinion.

I have been alive for nie on 72 years now and I have never seen anger so rampant among men of every persuasion. Sadly I do NOT see that reality changing at any time in the foreseeable future. I have been thinking about my response for awhile about this honest question- it is tough to ask. First, I am in the 60+, white and frustrated category. I am also Western Canadian, yep, in Canada too. I am not angry , however, just a very bewildered that everything is so politicized these days. Both sides are ridiculous and undignified, and where does this leave us? In the middle , just right of center, imo. Christian's believe that we are given a right to choose our earthly fate, we believe God needs us to choose him at every juncture in every decision big or small. Hell yes! I have been noticing this as well, for some time now. I thought perhaps it's been going on all along but is just one of those things you don't notice for a long time, but once you do you can't stop noticing it everywhere. I think its probably because I've been listening to podcasts alot, and many of the guest have the "so" sentence started tendency.
This forum is relatively tame, and I think it's because many of us become "known" to one another. There isn't the kind of puerile garbage you see when basement dwellers dominate. I decided to make this thread when I saw the thread about having a GTG. The anger here is out of control. I'm at the extreme low end of the anger spectrum, I know, but some here, wow. It's like a meth rehab.
I think the premise of this thread is entirely wrong. 24HCF does NOT attract angry men---we're normal, happy people when we arrive. Then we visit the Optics forum.
White men built this country, fact, not on slave labor. Slaves were used in the south for agriculture. Blacks only constituted about 10% of the total population, so whites built this country. White mostly protestant men.
It became the greatest country in the world. Highest standard of living for a large country, most productive, invented most of what is used in modern life. If we didn't invent it, we took it and exploited it for the masses.
We don't like LIBERALS throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Sure we made mistakes, but mostly fixed them. White men fought a Civil War to free the slaves. We freed Western Europe from NAZI's (National SOCIALISTS), and we made communism collapse. Conservative white men voted for the Civil Rights act.
Globalists and SOCIALISTS have tried throught "free trade agreements" to steal our manufacturing capabilities and move them overseas for cheap labor without lowering prices. They also began importing food from 3rd world countries that we once grew ourselves. The LEFT cares more about animals than human babies. They care more about weird lifestyles than what is normal, normal scientifically as well as normal spiritually.
