Truvada commercials??? Man its amazing how this is mainstream and even celebrated...
It’s amazing the time, effort and money they spend on something that affects a minuscule percentage of the population while cancer is still a mystery.

I get irritated with ads in general... The "mute" button is the most used button on my remotes..
Easy to tell what the very high profit drugs are by what gets advertised on tv.
Almost any commercial is better than the one featuring the garage band singing about their limp peckers.
The other is advertising crohns and colitis medication. It must be really profitable, I don’t know anyone who has the disease
I would ban all the medical commercials.
My most hated commercials are for lawyers suing just about anything they can think of. They always seem to be from Delaware.

I’ve often thought there’s already a cure for cancer but the real money is taking research grants and keep people “hanging on” with half assed radiation treatments.

The Wright brothers made the first airplane flight in 1902 and just 67 years later we put 2 men on the moon and bought them safely back.

We can clone animals and make all kinds of crazy genetic changes but we can’t cure cancer? Give me a break.
I've looked up the prices of said medication. Some of it is 2K up to 8K. Amazing
I'm another mute button user.
I gave up watching commercials and I DVR everything and then watch later a fast forward thru all the commercials. I haven't watched a live show in years.
Apples and pomegranates, tp. Similar false analogy: If people can bench press 300 pounds, why can't we flap our arms and fly?

Back to the OP...One reason drugs are so expensive is because of the billions of dollars spent on TV advertising. All of which is utterly wasted because only your doctor can prescribe those drugs, and your doctor is already fully aware of them without TV ads.

This works foe me. Hasbeen
The pharmaceutical industry seems to keep one upping themselves in the advertising department.

After society endured 90 second commercials about the Baby Boomer's dicks that quit working, they progressed to the woman on the subway with beads of sweat forming on her brow because she's seconds away from schitting her yoga pants.

Now it's onto butt fugkers taking medicine so the one butt fugker doesn't give the other butt fugker an STD. Even shows them all playing soccer so there's no confusion regarding their sexual orientation.

I don't care what people do on their own time as long as it doesn't directly impact me in a negative manner, but I am offended by having alternate/deviant lifestyles being shoved down my throat.

In general, I don't care if people choose to use recreational drugs, I don't care if people choose to be involved in homosexual relationships, and I don't care if people choose to engage in inter-racial relationships.

I just don't care, but I don't like having it delivered into my home and shoved in my face as though I was required to acknowledge/accept it.

Since people aren't going to avoid risky sexual contact and Truvada may help reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS, it is probably a good drug to be available to anyone a physician will prescribe it for, straight, gay, or undecided.

Just like all of the ads that suggest all kinds of scenarios that are very small fractions of the whole and treat them as if they are much more common than accepted statistical data shows. For example, mixed race marriages in the U.S. are much less common than marriages within racial groups, but they are portrayed in the MSM in such a way ads to look like common behavior. The TV show Modern Family is very popular and features a homosexual couple raising an adopted child. That scenario may be common in some places, but it isn't common anywhere that I've lived and I've only encountered it once that I know of.

Why do people insist on using this expression when referring to gay sex?
Just watch jerry Springer sometimes and get a load of just how screwed up people are! You got Homos "upset" that their 'significant" other isn't "faithful", cheats on them. Well duh! You see Lesbians who "hate men" yet their lesbo lover looks like a fat man with a crew cut, dresses like a lumberjack! when you live in a culture of no absolutes...you get absolutely crazy results! what a world...if this isn't The End Times, they'll sure do until they get here!
I don’t watch tv unless the wifey has it on, she watches cable so no commercials. She has been gone since Saturday, damn thing hasn’t been on. The damn remotes haven’t moved

I’ve been a drug rep for 22 years. You’d be surprised how uninformed most prescribers are concerning new or even recently approved medications.

The real driver for the pricing decision is much more complex than advertising expense.

You made me laugh so hard I almost pissed my Depends!
95% of commercials are an invitation for a channel check. Which wears out remote batteries. Bad commercials secretly encouraged by battery manufacturers.

People who make commercials with whistles or doorbell sounds should be summarily taken out and shot. WOOF!
I get irritated with click bait threads that don't state their content.

95% of TV we watch is done this way. We record everything, and FF the hell out if it.

Why the phagg drug cost so much here in the states versus how much it is in other countries.

Our countries phagg,s have more money and insurance here pays more.....
Money to be made off the butt pirates.......

I think her whole gist was "why do our phaggots have to pay so much to tear up each others azzholes and decrease the chance of getting the HIV Triple 3 death by bunga bunga by paying so much for truvada"

Fughing bullet in the noggin is the preventative cure really.....
Since we're venting, commercials with cartoon animals giving medical or financial advice. Yup, put all your faith in cartoon animals. Can't go wrong with that.

Not only that, but those pathetic people are a cancer on society and the only way the reproduce is by continuous lies and people turning a blind eye to their perverted lives behind closed doors. They also vote, teach school, serve you meals and provide millions of other infectious services to everyone in society. Don’t for a minute fall into that “leave them alone and they will leave me alone” dogma.

They are no better than Muslims...
Add says that Truvada is not for birth control. Told my son that phaggots do not need birth control.

Doesn't every American citizen have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

If so, don't American citizens who identify themselves as LGBTQ have equal protection under our laws to pursue their version of happiness without interference from people who may disagree with them?

You may not like Muslims, but religious freedom, another one of those Rights guaranteed to Americans, is free for all to practice as they choose without interference from people who may disagree with tem.
well I guess I"m going to google what Truvada is now. I'm a little concerned to what it could be
"I’ve been a drug rep for 22 years."

Have you ever told a physician that he/she should test to see if his patients are allergic to the drugs you are selling before he/she prescribes them? If you read the information about almost any prescription drug it will say not to take this drug if you are allergic to it. I'd like to be tested to see if I'm allergic to penicillin if I ever get strep throat again. When my kids were young and got strep throat they got a shot of penicillin and were cured overnight. I had to take an oral antibiotic for over a week or so. I guess there's not much money to be made making, prescribing and selling penicillin.

What is TRUVADA for PrEP?

TRUVADA for PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a prescription medicine that can help reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 through sex, when taken every day and used together with safer sex practices. This use is only for people who weigh at least 77 pounds and are HIV-negative and at risk of getting HIV-1.

To help determine your risk of getting HIV-1, talk openly with your healthcare provider about your sexual health.

The TV ad attempts to portrait a small groups of people who, it is inferred, appear to be homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual people who are taking responsibility for their health by taking TRUVADA as a means by which to help protect themselves from HIV infections.
You guys hate easy.....I for one have seen all the rag ,tampoon, sanitary napkin, multiple size absorptive panty liner, and shields etc. commercials I'll ever need to watch. Got to admit though every once in a great while those advertising turds comes up with one or two adds that make you laugh. Best one I can remember played last fall, it showed a good looking gal wearing a thin top with a vest. She inanely comments about her comfort, then parts the vest, cups her nice looking frt end lifts them and drops them. Then says " how do your cups fit?" sheeit I laughed so hard I fell off the couch. I honestly could watch that one every day but strangely it didn't last very long. MB

That’s what samples are for.

Most of the time the only way to find out if you’re allergic to a medication is to take it. To test for penicillin allergy go to an allergist/immunologist and request a test. They’ll administer a tiny amount of penicillin to your skin with a needle. If your skin reacts sufficiently that’s a positive marker for penicillin allergy.

Penicillin is generic, so anyone can make it. Not much margin in it.

Drug reps are sales people. Their mission is to move product by encouraging physicians to proscribe whatever they are pushing in place of or in addition to some existing medicine in a patient's treatment plan.

I was in health care administration long enough to know that very few physicians take advice from anyone who isn't a physician. Most physicians that I've worked with, well over 1,000 of them in large group practices, generally felt that anyone who was worth a damn was a physician and that if the person wasn't good/smart enough to be a physician their advice was suspect.

Like many trite sayings, the following one has more than a smidgeon of truth to it:

"You can always tell a surgeon, but you can't tell him much."

Yep. nauseating.
My mother in law is on a cancer med that is $17,000 a month. Fortunately the company that makes the drug has her on a "grant" program. Cost to her is zero dollars.

Jokingly, I told my wife if I'm ever in that position, just tell me "you gonna hafta die"
It has been found that the leftist, democrats, liberals, communist, socialist, islamites, lesbians, gays, transgenderism, and globalist have a condition which correlates with greater activity in the anterior cingulate cortex, poor and uncontrollable emotion regulation which features a hyperactive anterior cingulate cortex. This can be treated with medicines available today.

The "real driver" is greed......period.
The Democrats are attacking America at the cultural level. They are seeking to restructure American culture by supporting every form perversion including the allowance of pedophilia.

If you said “capitalism” instead of greed I’d agree with you.

Ain’t nothin’ free.

Don’t like the price? Spend the money to make it yourself.

Nope, If you want them, be tolerant and move to Washington State where they want to make a sanctuary state for all of this human waste. When you have disease, intolerance, and the desire to be Muslim or infidel, You can take yourself and all those people with you, somewhere else.

From my point of view all of our Rights that are outlined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are equal. If we choose to restrict or erode one, we open them all to restriction and erosion. So to me it is a binary, black or white, thing, we ether support them all or we set the table for them all to be restricted by special interests.

Since your position seems to be the very definition of intolerance, are you moving to Washington?

Texas, mostly.

Texas is notorious as a State that has a standard that lets most any kind of lawsuit get by with few or no repercussions/sanctions.

Not trying to pick a fight, BTW. It's just the "case". grin

I hate all the class action commercials. They drive up the cost of medicine and agriculture.

WOW! smile
I have a few questions about that for Mayor Pete.

And can you imagine what radio and TV ads are going to be about in 30 years?????

Lawyers and Government regulation.
