Walleye, rainbows and perch. There's a few others IIRC. That's Canyon Ferry, an impoundment on the upper Missouri. It's plumb full of fish. Every year folks come from all around and try to wipe 'em out. Just more and more and more fish it seems... I first went here in the mid-70's before any of those buildings were there camping with my maternal grandfolks. (Our new to us place was the third house here, put in in 1995.)

So far the daughter is 1 and dad is a zero. Heck of a first fish for Novi, 5 1/2 already. This year, her grandpa has been getting trout this size pretty regular. I'm going to NEED a boat. Am thankful to the core that we got away from Portlandia. Thanks for the comment.

Good job! Almost there.
Montana is getting awfully crowded, just like north Idaho. The growth of Kalispell, over the last thirty years, is difficult to grasp. Likewise, the Cour d'Alene/ Sandpoint corridor is swarming. Even worse than the burgeoning urban sprawl, the back country is also crawling with people. I guess this is what you get when population in North America doubles and more. Still, crowded as it is, it beats the hell out of the big cities. GD

Haha! My fancy cousins are starting to wonder.

They came from back east and fell in love with the Big Sky area. I've never been there....I guess its nice.

He built a big assed house there and they were enjoying themselves when the snow came.

10 inches of snow a week ago.

We were slumming it out east here.....and laughing a bit.
I wouldn't live out there.

Unless I had 4WD. laugh

Montana before global warming was 9 months of winter and 3 months of poor sledding. Now we get an extra week of poor sledding.

For sure.
Currently sitting in the Bozeman airport with a nice view North. Been in country since last Tuesday. Did a road trip to Boise and back. Orientation for one kid at BSU and the other at MSU. Both universities have this great deal. You give them 120k and they let you buy all the branded clothing you want. Got me a couple a new hats.

In Great Falls the Holiday inn express is better than the holiday inn which is a little older. The holiday inn has a bar/restaurant so you have to buy breakfast. Only drawback to the HIE in Great Falls is the lack of good options to eat nearby. Haven’t been there since last week. 😎

Uh, it shows a McDonald's right down the street. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn and drunked at the bar, so figured I'd diversify this time. grin

If I spend much time in Bozeman, gonna have to learn proper fly fishing. Don't think the combat snag-a-thon technique like we do at home on the Russian river is gonna work.
Looks like my house took a shotgun blast, going to need to re- stain.

Half an inch Sam.

No hail here. Wasn't too bad. Wind was not outrageous either.

Town to the north must have gotten it worse. Lines down all over I guess.

We were supposed to get a half inch over here, but as per the last month everything went east. Some seriously stressed crops up here. We’ve gotten less than an inch since May 28th and the area just west has maybe gotten half that.

Hope you guys avoid the hail over there.

Jeff, looks like the darkies in the hood worked over your place........

Can't trust a black bear.....

Typical thieving vandals, they take what they want and then tear everything else up and leave it layin' around

[Linked Image]
Nice Montana dump truck you have there Jeff
Child Labor practices are still used on many family farms.

[Linked Image]
True dat, I even see that abuse on big farms..... they make them drive trucks, tractors and such.. the horror.... then again to be expected in a third world state
It's horrible. So overrun with yellow sweet clover...

[Linked Image]
Way too many of the fish will not fit in a skillet.

Holy mackerel!
Use caution if you head off the road, some strangely interesting people dwell in far way places.
Some can be more dangerous than others.

[Linked Image]
All the tree's have died....

[Linked Image]
The gangsta's tag everything......

[Linked Image]
Hooligans abound.......

[Linked Image]
Not sure what to say about this one?

Wolves don't have a curly tail!
Even the goats have the "mange"

Did I mention arctic hell? and no daylight......

[Linked Image]
Can't say anything bad about this place.... but there is no road within 35 miles so nobody will ever see it anyway....... might as well be on the moon.
Many places in Montana like that.... wasted space

[Linked Image]
More wasted space... see previous post....

[Linked Image]
More invasive species..... damn loons

[Linked Image]
Last pic for the day.. gotta go before Big Stick catches wind and accuses me of plagiarizing from my couch.....

[Linked Image]
There is no TSA support at our airports..
Firearms are often seen being carried on local flights.

[Linked Image]

You're on you own for handling luggage as well..

[Linked Image]
Did someone mention child labor?

[Linked Image]

Crowded water ways, and well the rest stops are not very private

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
Norm, I like that public rest station. Nobody trying to open the door or nasty smells.

I'm moving to MT!
That much fresh air surely will wear out your lungs too soon.

Thats not a curly tail in that picture, he's just suffering alcohol induced erectile dysfunction ...
Evil children abound, they perform rituals on innocent animals.
Dead carcasses litter the mountain sides documenting proof of their activity..

He was a cull, broken brow tine, I let the kid shoot him

[Linked Image]
That's another problem with Montana.
The elk are too big, once I get them home they don't fit through my front door so I can't hang'um on the wall.
