Good pilot. Russia probably has a lot of flat farmland.
I'm surprised the fuselage didn't sustain more apparent damage.
Good landing. That's what you call it when you can walk away from it.
Would love to know how they are going to get that sucker out of there.
Imagine the task of getting it back to the airport .
Glad things turned out good for them .
Landed it wheels up with full fuel. Russia has there own Sully now.
That plane didn't sound too happy before the landing. Good for that pilot and crew.
Yes you can hear, what appears to be,the engine sputtering.
I think I'd re-name my kids after the pilot.
I have heard several times, possibly even from a crop duster pilot, that a cornfield is a desirable emergency landing field. The corn lays over under the aircraft and cushions it almost like a water landing, with no danger of drowning.
I might imagine wheels up would be preferred to landing gear getting hung up in soft earth or mud and flipping the aircraft.
Great job by the flight crew.
That's an EXCELLENT landing. Perfect.
I wonder if he landed next to a roadway.
Just the way it should be done.
GREAT JOB Captain.
Wonder what was going through the mind of the person shooting that video.
Yes you can hear, what appears to be,the engine sputtering.
Jet engines don’t sputter! One of three things aka flame out, sling a blade/blades or blow up quickly!
I'd take my chances in a tall corn field versus water any day.
Would love to know how they are going to get that sucker out of there.
Air bags, mats and a couple of bfg cranes...
Good landing. That's what you call it when you can walk away from it.
Yes. My IP in the mighty Cessna 150 saw how disgusted I was at my first few "hard" landings...He said the 2 grades were A and D. A was "Alive" and D was "Dead"..... so all 25 of my T&Gs were A's!!
Suppose the airline will reimburse the farmer?
Must have needed to refuel w ethanol!!
Must have needed to refuel w ethanol!!
Cheaper to take it right out of the field!!
Suppose the airline will reimburse the farmer?
In the days of communism, the farmers were given 10% of the production for their own purposes. If this would have happened back then, the farmer would probably lay claim to the plane as the government would claim the plane landed on the farmer's 10%.
Looks like some good field corn there.
"Good landing. That's what you call it when you can walk away from it." - And your clothes are not on fire. A great landing is when you can reuse the aircraft.
Landing like that, wheels down or no?
