I have to wonder, with all this farmland (hay, alfalfa) around, water for the local cattle operations and some reservoirs, juniper thickets to hide in, how them whitetail rats would do around here if I could talk the DFG into importing some. We need more deer here so a fella can have a chance of getting a tag near where he lives.

Or maybe I save some money and come hunt with you guys?

Tell me that's a good thing hanco 😀

No auodads or doo dads either. lol
It is a good thing, sorry bastards affect the deer population. That entire 1000 acres we hunt on is rooted up. I hate them damn Aoudads, doodads too. The deer run from them bullies when they see them.
How many of them corn slinging towers ya got?

Tennessee Code Annotated 70-4-113

baiting is a prohibited act

However, what goes on beyond our fences I have no control, knowledge or concern.

I bait with resident does.

I do not. I did find someone after dinner on Thursday that said from now on, save them the heart and liver. Brother in law's people. Last few hearts have been blown up. laugh

Had some heart and kidneys fried with my eggs this morning. You and 50 must be those 2 I heard about down south that eat 'high off the deer' .
It looks like it has,but ya better give your helper a big thanks to for giving up 2 hunts. Great job and some better eats to come.

I used to plant plots, not anymore. It just makes it easier for other people that hunt our place. (Cousins and misc people that get last minute permission from my senile uncle)

Just went to guerilla style, terrain, cover, pinches, funnels, natural food source, ground hunting, moving ladder stands every 7-10 days, following doe groups.
And using the folly of novices to push the resident deer to my set ups.

That's the been the most fun.

I didnt give up 2 hunts the way i think of it man.
Went and helped a friend.
I been deer hunting since the 3rd week of september man.
Kinda burnt, but getting back out in the morning.
Deer should be active after this crapola weather today.
Killed 4 deer and let a dude use my savage 220 that he killed 2 does with when i was on the way back to gut my buck carrying his winchester model 12 full of pumpkin ball slugs and a bead on the barrel. LOL!!!
Dude got a gift from god when i ran into him that morning in the dark and brought him in and sat him on one of my spots.
I got one buck tag left in Tn.
Plenty of season to go.
Mission is too break the cherry on my 8mm.
Then whack does with my mod70ot6 in a relaxed manner.

I'm looking for a certain doe with a deformed jaw, real thin. Might've been a car collision.
Seen her last Sunday in with the group.

If the wind is good in the morn, I'll head back in to that oak Y-hollow on the south west corner.

Nudie butt uncle gonna get his windows shook again. grin

Try the Sellior & Bellot 196gr SPCE round in it
Almost 2600 fps
Accurate as heck in my rifle
Ppu 196gr SP is accurate also, but only 2250 2300 fps
Underpowered as heck..

Federal and winchester and remington loads are even less fps and weight
Never shot any of em
Dont care too

Supposedly some american loadings have .318 bullets insted of.323

Lawyer ammo i geuss due to ww1 .318 bored 98,s still out their

Stupid schit people do ruin it for all...

Do you have a lion problem up there?

They're around, but haven't heard it called a problem. Few ranchers I know don't seem too worried. There was one seen in the area, rancher neighbor had a deer kill by there place, at least they think it was lion. Wife saw one 2018 on her way to work one morning. I'm in the woods more than she is, and I haven't seen one yet. Most folks around here haven't either. Haven't seen tracks either.

Plenty of deer right around us, and in town too. 50 of them in the neighbor's alfalfa the other day, under one pivot. But only so many tags given out for the unit as a whole and no antlerless tags at all. Lots of pressure from the populated areas of the State, as this is a premium zone.

Of course, the lion issue is there, being as how we no longer can hunt them in our wonderful State. Wolves will likely be here in a few years too.

I'd just like to have an overpopulation like back east and down south so I can shoot a couple a year without worrying if I had the points to draw a tag.

Remington was loading .321 bullets at low pressure. They work ok in the .318 guns, and when slugged, most "J" bores are actually .319 to .321.
Nice AK who makes it?

The .323 euro full power ammo is good stuff.
I even tried some of the hornady classic match 196 bthp
That stuff didnt shoot well at all.

This Sellior & Bellot round has a extemely long bearing surface
My JS bore gun loves em actually.

Remember hearing all types of schit when i was posting about running em in a m4 clone 3 yrs ago on the AR forum.
LOL!!!! Big time....

Not saying any of this to slam you jimmyp.
Just stating thoughts about the winds of change.
