The Pennsylvania Game Commission is investigating a “reprehensible” video of two boys abusing an injured deer, in an assault that reportedly occurred on the first day of deer rifle season for hunters in the state.

On Saturday, disturbing video footage hit Facebook featuring a young man repeatedly kicking a buck in the face while a friend filmed. The male deer, which appeared to have already been shot, laid on the ground and pawed at the attacker, while the two boys could be heard snickering and taunting the animal, per Fox 43.

“Grab his horn and pull him away from that tree,” one of the young men could be heard instructing the other in the disturbing 30-second clip.

Breaking with tradition, deer rifle seasoned opened in the Keystone State on Saturday. Historically, the season began on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Back in April, the Game Commission approved the rescheduling of the date, Fox 43 reports, marking the first time in 50 years that deer rifle hunting season opened on a Saturday.
Bet they find them, hope so. I have a hard time with that age group these days.
Good way to get hurt messing with a wounded deer. Too bad it couldn't get up and thrash them.
Certainly are some sick fuqks in this world.

............ That was my first thought........ I wish that buck had enough strength left to get up and gore the hell out of one of 'em.... That'll teach 'em.
Sick thing to do to an animal.

Hell, they know who the boys are.

What's stopping them?

https://heavy.com/NEWS/2019/12/CODY-HETRICK-ALEX-SMITH/
Hopefully they are just going through the process, don't think either one is a flight risk.
That was totally disgusting. Those kids will grow up doing twisted things if intervention does not happen. Bastards need their asses whooped first. Really made me sick.

I read that the stepfather turned them in to authorities.
No idea how the PAGC "got" them, but I saw a Facebook
post about this a couple days ago.
They put it on social media, what I saw had their names added,
and was a public call to action to "shun" them.

Game Officials here live on social media.
It's amazing how these law breakers like to brag.
Instead of going to bars and listening, now the just
click, and let the criminals give themselves up.

This.
Not much "bothers" me these days I have become somewhat hardened
There was something about that that was not easy to watch

and Yes I wanted that buck to get up and stick his rack up their azz
Maybe thats not cool but thats what I thought

I hate bullys period I think about 2 situations in my life I should have done more to stop a bully

Hank
Won't watch the video.

Boys need the butts thumped and lose their ability to hunt and fish for quite a while and do a ton of community service.
Gut shoot both of them with a .22 and kick the schitt out of them for 30 seconds. Further medical care is optional.
Good lord. People will watch someone physically assault another person without showing so much as a hint of outrage. Yet here is a goofy friggen kid kicking a deer that has likely been spined, and we are ready to hang the kid. That deer is tough as nails and probably didn't feel a damn thing. The optics here are bad, and the kids need a lesson on how to humanely dispatch a wounded animal, but in reality this is a nothing venison burger.
Very strange how so many law breakers get busted after they post their crime on social media so the entire world can see. Could this be considered a stupidity epidemic ? To do something that sick and illegal and then advertise it, tells me the perps can't be playing with a full deck.
That is really sick. Those kids need an ass whipping, and 30 days in jail.
Paul Barnard if you think that what they did to that deer is ok, then you sir are a first class assclown. They had no intention of humanely putting down the deer. What they did was sick and twisted and was intentionally done. They also have video's of themselves smashing woodchucks heads off concrete bridges and laughing about that. This is a great video for the animal rights and non-hunting crowd to show for their fight.

What part of what you read led you to believe I think it's okay?
I couldn't watch any video of an animal being mistreated, and if I ever saw someone doing that I would just start swinging.

You do know you are currently amongst a group of highly dignified outdoors men that lived flawless childhoods, right?

If there had been high definition video capable smart phones in every kids pocket 70 years ago I'm sure the archives would show nothing but upstanding actions and events.

Hell, I've taken rouge cats out that went way worse than that did....
Absolutely no excuse for their behavior, but some of the responses here are just as sick.
Those kids need to be sentenced to working with wild animals for an extended time.
Their parents need the ads kicking for raising them without ethics and compassion.
Very strange.....

Tell me theyre homeschooled...

These boys are probably chronic bed wetters. They say that and animal abuse is a sign of a darker future.

They need to be in a good methodist church with a lesbian minister.

Looking back at my youth, there is plenty to be embarrassed about. It had nothing to do with my parents either. They raised me right, but as young people often do, I strayed from the teachings. I now find myself back where they tried to guide me. Funny the way life works sometimes.

So you think the deer felt a lot of pain as a result of the kicks?

Yeah! In the sense of shear terror, not being able to run away and getting tortured by two pathetic little ass clowns that deserve the same exact schidt done to them.

Those kids obviously lack respect.

If i was playing judge:
5 years suspension from any hunting. 200 hours comminity service to be served at local animal shelter. $3k fine.

Parents are likely POS.

If several people read it that way, then I suppose I could have worded it better. The kids were dumbasses and should have dispatched the deer immediately and humanely, but I doubt the deer felt a damn thing with the kicks.

Bless your heart.
I just realized something. I could not get the Fox video to play. I found a 20 something second clip on another source. It could be that I am missing an important piece of the picture.
Those punks are NOT doing their age group any favors!

It's humanity that is missing.

Most kids are bloodthirsty. That's natural. But maturity, mercy, and ethics are all things that are learned.

We are better than what was portrayed in that video.

That is the lesson that should be learned.

The part where you said the deer "is as tough as nails and probably didn't feel a damned thing". I believe you are wrong about that.

The kid wasn't goofy, he is sick. Kids that start out doing wicked things to animals often graduate doing the same to humans.
First time I saw the video I thought stupid teenagers high on something doing stupid teenage crap.

Even decent teenagers can absolutely knock the wind out of you with stupid decisions from time to time, this is why they call them "minors".

I was encouraged to read the stepfather of one of the teens turned them in.

But then I read these kids had previously filmed themselves torturing a groundhog...

...and even worse one of the moms sorta defends her kid....

Throw the book at 'em, but depending on their age they still get prosecuted as minors.
They're going to cause us to be worse old men than we had to deal with when we were pups.

Yes sir.
I think mercy and compassion are also natural traits, but need to be nurished and reenforced as a part of maturing.

As an aside, animal cruelity laws aint gonna do us, as hunters, any favors. Trump making it a felony is no bueno IMO.

The truth is that I don't know whether it felt anything or not. I have watched some buck fights that saw them take way more of an impact than those piddly kicks completely unfazed. I go to the dog park regularly and see dogs beat the ever loving crap out of each other and come back for more. My lab has this thing where she likes to chest bump to the dogs. She'll hit other dogs nearly full speed with her chest and bowl them over. They are right back up playing instantaneously. That's part of why I said that I doubt the deer felt the pain. Animals are just tougher and more pain tolerant than humans. How often does a heart shot human do a 40 yard death dash?

I remember when I was growing up I used to tape firecrackers and bottle rockets to lizards and light them off underneath toads. I probably would have been jailed for doing what I did to the frogs and lizards if I did that as a kid today. Today I have a very soft spot for animals. I know that there is a well established path from animal abuse to human abuse, and given the history of these kids, that warrants an intervention in this case.

In the grand scheme of things, the kicks were simply not a big deal to me. What the kicks, when examined in light of the kid's other behavior, represent is somewhat troubling. They are somewhat troubling when coupled with what the kid's parents later said. I think there are some unhealthy family environmental factors of concern. I spined a deer in Kodiak many years ago. I shot at greater range than I should have at 400 yards. I sprinted to give it a coup de grace. I wonder if the idiot 15 year old version of me would have kicked it. I doubt it. But still I struggle to call for these dipschidts to be castrated for what they did.

I understand your thinking.

But it stupid to assume.

I have a step father. I call him Dad.
He raised my handicapped brother, my sister, and myself.
And it shouldn't matter, but I know it does to the judgmental
stereotype liking 'Fire" members, my "Real Dad" was killed
by a truck tire while working. And, both men were married
to my Mom.

But heck,
I have a Stepfather.
