The Democrats did everything possible, much of it Unconstitutional, to get President Trump Impeached.
They lied, cheated, conspired and manipulated the facts and the truth.

One thing we know for certain is that the Democrats do not play fare and they certainly never accept Defeat.

When Schiff and Feinstein both come out in favor of turning the Articles over to the Senate, you know something is up.
This is most certainly NOT the Democrats throwing their hands up in defeat and saying "OK, OK OK, you got us we give up."

Pelosi held those article for a reason and that reason is yet to be determined.

Something happened over the last couple of days, or something is about to happen next week. Something that they have been waiting for and prolly the reason for the delay. An early October Surprise if you will.

If I had to guess, and I do, I would say that the Democrats and the Media already have the Mueller GJ Documents and are about to leak them. Getting the courts to give them permission is going to take to long, so they are just going to leak bits and pieces of it, then demand that the Mueller GJ documents be presented ant the Senate Trial.

Whatever it is, they are not waving the White Flag.

Something Doesn't smell right.
I agree. Something is up.
It is odd, something is afoot but what? McConnell's comments about expecting the articles to be sent over this week seem odd too. AFAIK the Senate hasn't voted on the rules for the impeachment trial yet. Has an agreement been made?
The “reason” Pelosi is holding the articles up is timing.

The democrats want this “Trial” much closer to election time.

Two things are almost certain to happen during the trial.
#1 The (democrat) prosecutors will twist the facts and slant everything to make Trump look as bad as possible.
#2 The senate will acquit him.

If this happens now/soon, then voting public will forget most of what is said during the trial, and Trump will use his acquittal as a fund raiser.
If Pelosi can stall for a few months, more people will remember the lies the democrats told, and Trump will have less time to fund raise.

The reason many democrats are calling for her to submit the articles of impeachment now is the Republicans are making her and the House Democrats look bad for stalling.
All they (Republicans) need to do is call for an immediate pre-trial hearing to determine “IF” there is enough evidence to go to trial. Without the articles of impeachment, any legitimate Judge would have to dismiss on grounds of a lack of evidence.

Nancy mis-judged how much influence she could have over the Senate trial.
Could it be something as simple as the Dem Senators running for prez election being pulled off the campaign to attend Senate Impeachment trial?

...but this is Not a Legal Proceeding, it is a Political Process.

If it were based on Judicial Law and protocol, not a single senator would be allowed to even sit on the Jury.

Because it is a political process, the Legal Proceedings and Procedures associated with a "trial" do not come into play here.

No and Yes
Not that complicated IMO. They played several losing hands against Trump and having pulled the pin, don't want to throw the grenade, because that's a loser too, but the Dems in the Senate are starting to fuss because they want their shot at the spotlight. They want the publicity, and can blame the bad ending on Pelosi and her minions, and Trump and McConnell "colluding" on the trial, of course.

And yet the constitution calls for Senators to be the jury.

McConnell is in charge, what would stop him from calling for a pre-trial hearing to determine if there is enough/any evidence ?
What would/could stop him from calling for a vote to dismiss due to lack of evidence ?
They were either waiting on something or suddenly had a light bulb go off in their heads for something they forgot, or which has "come to light".

Either way, their buffoonery will again rule the day. Given their history over the last 3 years, you can depend on it..
Blackmail is what is happening.
When CNN starts publishing opinion pieces like this, you know the end is nigh.....

https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/07/opinions/mcconnell-impeachment-pelosi-schumer-jennings/index.html

(CNN)House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer have been bested by Mitch McConnell yet again. The two Democrats attempted to create impeachment leverage where none existed by withholding the Articles of Impeachment passed last month against President Donald Trump.
But like your Aunt Frieda threatening not to bring her awful fruitcake to Christmas Dinner, their plan didn't work. Nobody wanted it in the first place.

McConnell won this round against his Keystone Cops opposition because he has something Schumer and Pelosi don't: a reasonable argument.
The Senate majority leader has insisted from the beginning that if the House were to impeach Trump, the Senate should treat him the same way it treated Bill Clinton in 1998. So, McConnell has steadfastly argued for the same rules package that passed the Senate 100-0 in the Clinton iteration. "What's good for the goose is good for the gander" makes a pretty sensible argument.

The Democrats have raged against his position. This is different, they say. They are right -- this is different. The articles of impeachment against Clinton were bipartisan, and the ones against Trump aren't. Given the hyper partisan nature of this impeachment against Trump, McConnell's offer for the Clinton rules should have been greeted by Democrats with open arms. But instead they have demanded to treat a Republican president different from the way a Democratic president was treated not so long ago under the guise of producing a fair trial.

It's the height of hypocrisy for Schumer to lead this charge. He used his impeachment vote in his 1998 Senate campaign as a political weapon, promising donors and voters that supporting him would lead to Clinton's acquittal. In fact, some might even call what Schumer did a quid pro quo -- you support me, and I'll vote to acquit your president. Today, he tears into McConnell on a near daily basis for not being an impartial juror. What a joke. Schumer voted for the Clinton rules package back then and opposes it now because, well ... I guess opposing Donald Trump is a helluva drug. Democrats have repeatedly made their feelings on Trump known. Just Tuesday, Elizabeth Warren said: "I am willing to listen to the Trump administration put on a defense ... (but) I don't see how it's possible not to vote for an impeachment."

She's not alone, of course, but her words are just the latest gut punch to Schumer's claims that the Senate should turn into some episode of Perry Mason. Even Schumer himself said back in 1998 that the Senate is "not like a jury."
The days of Pelosi being hailed as some next-level genius impeachment strategist I guess will have to come to an end for the liberal pundit industry. Her plan to withhold the articles of impeachment to create that "leverage" over McConnell failed spectacularly. No Republicans were harmed, pressured, or otherwise inconvenienced in the making of this sad, sad film.

Under the rules pushed by McConnell, same as for Clinton, the US Senate will begin the impeachment trial by listening to presentations from the House managers and the President's lawyers. Then there will be a question and answer period for senators to get information from the presenters.
And then the Senate can decide what it wants to do about witnesses. Maybe they will want to hear from some. Maybe they won't. Even if they do, don't bet on a quick resolution. No matter what former National Security Adviser John Bolton says about being willing to testify under subpoena from the Senate, it is likely the White House would invoke executive privilege to try to prevent his testimony.
What's more, if he's so interested in telling his story now, why does he need to wait for a subpoena? Bolton could simply write down everything he knows and send it to Congress right now if he wanted. But he hasn't done that, I suspect because he wants the appearance of looking like he wants to talk without the actual responsibility of doing it.

Is America entitled to a Trump impeachment trial?
Bolton's announcement won't change McConnell's thinking on how to process this impeachment, and underscores what a blunder it was for Pelosi and Adam Schiff to have failed to subpoena Bolton in the first place.
And now McConnell has exposed them for what they are -- desperate partisans who aren't interested in using impeachment the way the founders intended, but rather as just another tactic to be deployed in the hopes of trapping some Republican senator in a vote that can be used in an attack ad.
They failed to convince a single Republican in the House that impeachment was necessary. They failed to pressure Mitch McConnell's conference to do their homework for them.

And they will fail to remove President Trump from office when all is said and done, instead delivering him to a perch of exoneration from which he will bludgeon them for weeks. This could not have gone more poorly if the Democrats had tried. Any Republican senator on the ballot this year knows it would be suicide to join Pelosi or Schumer's hapless crusade now. Better to let the people decide Trump's fate in November than allow the Washington partisans to try in January.

Liberalism is a mental disease......so trying to figure out what's up with them is impossible.....that is of course unless one is also afflicted.

I wondered if Pelican also was waiting to see if a new senate elected this fall might become Democrat and they would then bounce trump from office after the 2020 election.....but it makes little sense to think they can see that far nor will the American public stand for that. She has her foot in her mouth and knows it and possibly thinks that she will not be seen as badly if she holds the articles until things have blown over.....but giving her any credit of thought is not to be had.....as I said....the Dems are not mentally stable. They are now ruled by hatred and jealousy ( no different than the Mullas)…..sadly, many Americans also are of that type of reasoning so anything the Dems do is just fine with them.

Trump is winning on all fronts....no different than the battle of Stalingrad.....the tide has turned and she simply don't know where to retreat.....she had led her party down the yelowbrick road only to find that it's yellow from all the pi$$ing done by previous administrations

Crash and burn you piece of dog excrement.....you have earned it.

The longer the dems drag this out, the more doddering and addled will be Pelosi's speech and presentation. And the more contrived will be the dems' urgency to impeach.

Unless you consult with a specialist in the liberal mental disorder . . . the Dr. of Democracy . . . Rush Limbaugh. He has them figured out.
The Senate trial could start on Wednesday.

He is able to laugh at em daily.
They are trying to delay things to get as much negative Trump reporting in the media as close to the election as possible.
They have Bolton spilling his guts to them. Trump kicked him to the curb and washed him down the gutter, and Bolton sees this as get even time.

They were soooo honorable in the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings...

Cannot imagine they believe the voting public has a memory that long...

More like they are only hanging onto this until something else bad happens and they can let the impeachment die during the dust-up.
The Republicans in the Senate were going to hold the trial without the articles of impeachment if Piglosi held on for them much longer.

After the Republicans apply normal rules of jurisprudence to the evidence there won’t be any evidence left supporting the charges. Furthermore, they can dismiss the charge of refusal to cooperate with congress because it’s bull.
I believe that John Bolton is an honorable man. I think that there was a rope a dope when he left the administration. Playing to the Dims seems to work very well. John Bolton is the age where he wants a clean exit. I don't think that he wants another mountain to climb.
The left, democrats, liberals, communist, socialist, hollywood, snowflakes, the media, and islamites they want power and control of the people. They hate Americans, the Constitution, and the USA. They are enemies and traitors to Constitution, the American people, the republic, our allies, and to GOD. There is nothing in the left, the democrats, the liberals, the communist, the socialists, and the islamites agenda’s to help the republic, the people, the constitution, or GOD. In fact their agendas will destroy the country, the people, and God. The constitution will be gone along with the republic. The sad thing for honest freedom loving people is there is no place left to go. We fight now and die here or the people will forever be slaves to the liberal democrat socialist communist globalists. Once socialist or communist this country is gone forever and history will be deleted.
It might be something so simple as the scum wanting this over because they see the polls turning against them on the issue.

It has already been postulated that Plugs Biden is behind this. Holding the trial in the next few weeks will interrupt the ability of the Senate Democrat candidates (Bernie, Fauxcahontas, Spartacus, Tulsi and Klobuchar) to personally campaign in the Iowa primary which votes on 2 Feb. All Senators must personally attend all the Senate Impeachment hearings.

The DNC is behind it for him.
Dems might just want to muddy the waters to set the stage for Trumps SOTU address.
Also, Trump has been hitting home-runs lately with the economy, trade deals, counter terror.....the Dems need to get back in the game.

I think you give him too much credit. He's a neo-con and is quieter Dick Cheney. I don't trust either of them.

Man...I hope I'm dead wrong.
Is there something wrong with a neo-con? That is Bolton's stick, let him have it.

The only thing wrong with Dick Cheney was he was a bad shot!

You might be right. In my innocent way of thinking Pelosi has a similar "Untouchable" complex that Hillary had prior to Trump winning the election. Pelosi thought that she would be able to deliver the articles and have say/input/manipulation in the Senate process. Big ego combined with diminished capacity .

Wait... thus isn’t the pussy scented candle thread? It says....

Anyway.

Think the dems likely have another gambit hatched, probably petty, which they think can help drag the process out well into 2020. That, afterall, is their only achievable goal.

Stuff is going on guys like you cant even imagine. They want a Senate trial and to cry about how the Rs wont give a fair trial, grasping at straws to flip the Senate to stop Trumps coming agenda.

Truths you cant comprehend will surface. They wont be safe to walk the streets after the coming reckoning.

Trump is probably the modern Elijah. It's going to be Biblical. Enjoy the show. GOD is with him. HE makes his way open.
