It might be something so simple as the scum wanting this over because they see the polls turning against them on the issue. I was thinking along these lines. Maybe they see it all as a loser and they'd like to get it as far behind them as possible as quickly as possible. I'm just guessing though.

Think the dems likely have another gambit hatched, probably petty, which they think can help drag the process out well into 2020. That, afterall, is their only achievable goal.
