Do you use Facebook? I signed up years ago, I have not learned my way around it.

I guess I need to, some places like our church use it to keep everyone up to date.

Thats the rub.

If you dont Facebook....you dont know whats going on.

School Board meetings are posted on FaceBook.

It could be worse. Not having Facebook keeps you from attending events that would probably be filled with people who have and use Facebook.

Along with religion type stuff, that crap should be unconstitutional.

Favoring one form of social media (and its owners) over another. Shame.

Did they put it out for competitive bid? Maybe instagram or tweeter might have won out.

I do. It's real easy to filter out the stuff you don't want to see. Lots of good hunting, fishing, gun, bushcraft, etc., pages out there. Not much different than here though. Someone starts a topic, then someone else knows more, then everyone is calling each other names.

While I use Facebook groups to buy and sell farm equipment, I agree about all the useless posts..........such as...."Look, here we are with our wonderful little darling grandkids at McDonalds, where little Joey had the Kids Meal with chicken nuggets, and Zoe had a cheeseburger, while Marvin had a Big Mac, and I had the McRib."

They're about as bad as the posts about how............"My darling wife and I are celebrating our 3rd anniversary today, and I just want to say that Mabel I love you and I am the luckiest man alive".............and then all their friends have to comment about how lucky Mabel is to have a husband like Oscar.

Yep I've used it a bunch

There are literaly hundreds of specialized groups

You like the Savage 99......there is a closed group
You like Dillon or Hornady or Lee ect ect.....you guessed it

Tons of hunting groups and its easy to "ignore" people
When you block a FB user you don't see the crap they post and they cant see yours

Way better then the Forums and IMO it's the reason Forums have died

There is even a closed group for guys that used to come here.....
Very private and exclusive group......

WOW fools? Maybe you should take a closer look in the mirror. I forget what the FB base is at now, but that is a whole lot of fools if you were to be correct. But then I'm still trying to figure out texting. At work every break time the younger people would immediately pull out their phones and ticky-ticky the whole break time. WTF do they have to say that's worth listening to? The resident in room 101 tried to flush a wipe and plugged the toilet, making the maintenance guy's morning? (nursing home)

If you think supporting Facebook and Zuckerberg is ok, have at it. I won’t support someone that is actively calling for more gun control, pushing liberalism and silencing conservatism. Formulating and steering public opinion based on what they view as acceptable. I know that stuff is unimportant and can be overlooked because they have neat chat groups that revolve around model 99’s, you can see pics of your “friends”, etc. to each his own. I’ll pass.

Zuckerberg is a joo, millenial self made billionaire who appears white. There recently was reported a day when 1 billion people around the world utilized facebook. I guess I should fear being indoctrinated against my will since I am a helpless old white guy.

Or, some people need to up their game and make the leap into 2020 AD. That would be difficult for some.

I do. Have to for work. Tried to get off of it a year ago because it’s mostly stupid gossip. Due to the business I’m in, restaurant, bar and hotel, I have to manage what people post. There’s always someone posting something good or bad that has to be filtered for the general public. I fired an employee for posting “full moon and private party tonight, pray for me”. Someone in the party saw the post. Cancelled the party 2 hrs prior. Cost me $5k in lost revenue! That’s what I hate about social media. Years ago it was just chatter. Today everyone wears their feelings on their sleeve.

It’s a good way to keep up with old classmates and family though. Without FB I’d have no idea it’s someone’s birthday. lol.

I use it, very handy if you know how. I've made great buys, sold a fair bit as well, and will continue to do both. Easily the best classifieds in the area.

Belong to several groups where I've learned a lot of very specific information that would have been very difficult to acquire otherwise. Then there's the memes...

It's as useful or useless as you decide to make it, just another tool.

But I have to admit these last few days it’s been a great tool for getting the word out and keeping track of what’s going on here in VA. The usually quiet conservative people are pissed and not afraid to say so.

Irony...

For those saying they won't use Facebook because it 's left leaning... almost all social media is left leaning, I would bet whoever gets paid to host this site is left leaning. How do you get away from it?

Google, so some of you don't use google, then you use youtube to fix your truck, listen to music, post links here... it's owned by google.

Have cable TV, I don't, can't stand TV, but it's the life blood of liberal programming.

Instagram, Twitter, pinterest ? I don't use any of those but doubt they are owned by stanch conservatives.

All I can do is manage content that I'm exposed to, I can't do anything about who owns the source.

No one is holier than thou who turned on the computer and read this.

i have been on facebook for years. check it daily. i have gotten back in touch with a lot of people from school years ago, others that have moved away, and actually quite a few connected to this site. excellent way to share pictures, family, and common interests.
i belong to a number of special interest groups, such as sig sauer forums, ruger, garand, and other gun related pages.
it's world wide, and i have a number of friends in europe that we correspond pretty regularly.
facebook does do data mining, but it's controllable as to what you allow.
i do a certain amount of ancestor research, and combined with ancestry.com, facebook has put me in contact with numerous relatives from the old country.
excellent resource if you know how to use it.

there are all kinds of closed in groups. you just have to chose what you want to belong to. most of my life as an example i have loved off road touring the back roads and ghost towns of arizona. So do others, and they are delightful groups.
