Last I heard was Uncle Sam was going to send out $1,200 check to all American adults and $500 per child. If that check shows up I think I'll just stick it in the bank with another couple hundred bucks because next April I bet they will want it back plus some............
There's a much more believable scenario that I'm interested in- - - - -I just got an email from an Ethiopian prince who wants to send me a truckload of money, and he sounds more believable than any American politician from either side of the aisle right now! Jerry
Doubt I’ll get one and think it’s just another re distribution ploy. If we get one, it will go into checking account for miscellaneous stuff and to partially offset the multiple of $1200 that will be added to our tax burden.
That said, we'll send it right back as tax payments on the new tax date, July 15th. I'm trying to simply think of this lunacy Socialism as a tax break. We pay too much already.
I couldn't agree more, but my situation has drastically changed in the last year. A year ago I would have been okay, but I probably would have been grateful to receive it. My wife and I paid off all but our house and have 6 months of expenses saved up, all thanks to Dave Ramsey's plan. My wife and I were talking about how different things would be if we hadn't cleaned up our mess this last year.

IF I get it it will go towards barrel and bullets. You know, the necessities of life.
I asked my wife about it, she said we shouldn't get any, they're just giving it to people who need it. I said, what about if they're giving it to us to go out and spend, to stimulate the economy and help out those in the most affected industries? Like restaurants? yeah. Oh, that's different, We'll take it all downtown and blow it on a few good meals.

Sounds like a smart move. They are sneaky that way.
On the other hand, maybe I'll buy a 6.5 Creedmoor .. it is, after all, the apocalypse.
I’ll take every cent and build a 6 month supply of canned goods and necessities if things ever return to normal
A new normal will come. Just like 9-11 changed some things forever (TSA screening at airports, etc) but we found a new normal, this coronavirus will change some things forever but we will find a new normal. What that is depends on whether we are able to develop a vaccine, earlier screenings, and more effective treatments or not. I'm not in a position to predict anything specific, only that something will become normal.
Under the married threshold limit. Got a dependant college student if they dont throw the 18 age limit in per child. Dunno....
2000 or 2500 2400 or 2900 If the corona home college kid gets 500 in the amount Me and the wife will give that to her this fall when she goes back to college
Read so many versions of the proposal...
It's gonna pay my 2019 tax bill or a real good chunk of it.
If a 2nd round of disbursements hit, which I hope never happens. Probably just keep it in checking as a buffer for 2020 taxes.
Still gonna be taxable to most of us .... But I'm willing to bet it wont be for EIC types for 2020 so it dont knock em into higher income brackets per that. You can bet the Liberal Socialist Democrats have managed to make that a stipulation..
I have no problem helping out those who have been hit hard by this, but I don't need it, and would rather they save their money as far as I'm concerned.
From what I've read so far regarding the payments to individuals, it doesn't sound to me like they've got the amounts and details nailed down yet as to the guidelines of who gets it, who doesn't, and how much.
We closed down yesterday and 94 employees are in need of whatever help they can get. Half are food servers that depend on tips and the other half are hourly employees. My brother said everyone is getting a weeks pay and another for every 5 years of service. Wish there was more help available because I'm still not convinced that this isn't just the flu and a bunch of BS to go along with it.
Strike anyone odd that a Chinese guy runs for president promising a $1000/month payment to all Americans. Few months later a Chinese virus is trying to kill us all, which prompts the government to hand out $1000/month payments?
I hope everyone spends a check they get. I have always saved, have plenty in the back and normally a check goes strait there. However, they want you to spend the money to stimulate the county. If you want to save wait until things get back to normal to do it.
I'm going to use it to start my own business to capitalize on this strange new world I'm afraid we'll be living in for the foreseeable future. Lots of money to be made helping people prepare for the next pandemic that's sure to come.

It’s a crying shame everyday workers have to be affected by an election year flu that got MSM’d into a full-blown panic.
I found a NIB stainless Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag. 5.5” barrel in the local classifieds this morning. Guy wants $475 for it, texted him and told him when this crap is over and we can transfer handguns again we may be able to make a deal....Seems a good enough use for part of the money.
Married filing single cutoff is $99k and jointly is $198k. There's gradual cutoff going up to those numbers.
“Click on the link above” and read carefully!!!
If I understand this correctly: Married couples with AGI of $150k or less would get $2400(individuals with AGI of $75k or less would get $1200) + an additional $500 per qualifying child(dependant) on your 2018 tax return.
So, a family of 5 whose parents made $150k or less(AGI in 2018) would receive a check for $2400 + 3 x $500 = $3900. That’s a pretty good chunk of change if used wisely to fill the freezer / pay bills etc for the next few weeks. That could help a lot of folks out....just sayin.
You guy's are really jumping the gun. There's no bill giving out anything to anyone except corporations. No bill preventing foreclosures or evictions, no guarantees of anything.
I have always wanted a genuine, honest to goodness.....SwingAway can opener.
You cant beat em.
We shall see if the budget allows.
A new Bunn coffee maker would be nice.
Our Mr.Coffee is near dead.
Not sure if we are responsible enough for a Bunn though.
We had a Bunn a few years back. It puked in about the same time as a Mr Coffee. We are back to the Mr Coffee. Sluice it with vinegar every month or so to clear the scale, replace when it pukes. We usually brew two pots per day.
The critical component is the coffee anyway, not the brewer. We like the SF Bay French Roast beans from Costco. Fresh grind and brew. Damn good cup of coffee.
This is tempting. Put it in a S & P 500 Index fund. Either loose it or double it. Kind of like betting on black - but the wall street casino is still open.

Bunn has a 5 year warranty. Got one as a wedding present. It started leaking right at 5 years. Called them up. Gave a date code on bottom of pot, they sent a new one a few days later. Replacement is about 5 years old. Makes a pot or three a day.
Our Bunn puked in the electronics somewhere. Didn't pursue replacement, just said "f u ck this piece o' sh it" and went and grabbed a $29 Mr Coffee at Walmart, and got on with life.
Based on our income with two kids, we should get approx. $2200...If that actually happens - going to have Me, my wife, and kids to each spend $100 at a local restaurant/small business and put the rest in the safe for the next worlds ending event.
Centershot: MORE GUNS! I even plan on spending the VarmintWifes stipend. He-he. Life is good. I am happy. I wonder if this is what the common ghetto dwelling welfare bitch feels like just before her welfare check is gonna come in? Maybe I'll just become a common gimmee, gimmee, gimmee government dependent type? Been "payin in" for 60+ years now maybe its my turn to leech for a while? Naw.... I got to much pride. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
I’d take $700 against the WiFi service and laptop I need to buy to teach online through this crisis. The other $500? Maybe a.22 revolver, stimulating the economy and all that.
Maybe I use my $1200 if I get it, to buy me some barrels of oil.
I figure if I toss in a few of my bucks I can get like 50 barrels. Sell it when it gets back up around $40. Going to take production a bit to ramp up and all, yet demand will jump as soon as the All Clear is given and folks can get out of their houses to go to the CiCi's and Golden Corrals for a sit down dinner. I figure it hits $40, what, like about 2 weeks after the all clear?
50 x $15 = a cool $750 profit and I can give back the $1200 if the gooberment wants it in taxes.

how much you willing to pay for a used one? Still in pretty good shape.
My wife will miss it, but I prefer the Zyliss. No sharp edges, I can use the cans for nuts and bolts and not cut my dainty fingers.
That SwingAway likely last long enough to pass it on to your kids. I'll make a good deal if it's gooberment money you'd pay for it. Wouldn't want it going back to the Cabal now, would we?

PS Might just have an old Mr Coffee hanging around, no Bun though.
I started a thread a while back on can openers. Shortly after found one on clearance for $2 at Dollar General. Best freakin one ive had so far. No play at all. Solid.

Jews (you still haven't explain why you spell it the way you do. If you want to fool search engine robots just use ((())), or if you feel surrounded by Jews use )))((( )....anyway, Jews certainly manipulate the financial markets for their own gain or to damage those who build things. The stock market included, but it is properly a capital market and an important one at that. It isn't directly controlled by and for International Jewery like (((central banking))).
I have not read the entire thread... because it would bore me to death, anyhow forgive me if this has been mentioned already. HOOKERS & BLOW IS THE CORRECT ANSWER.........

Double that trouble with an additional $1200 from a friend and we won’t see daylight for 3 days. 😂😎

I thought about donating it to those less fortunate (if we get it). Then I thought, well eventually me or my kids are going to have to pay whatever we get back, with interest, via taxes. And since the less fortunate will be getting theirs as well, we will eventually have to pay some of that too, since they don’t pay taxes. So we will probably invest it or use to to pay down our home mortgage. I don’t think there will be much “stimulating” from that.
The genuine Swing-a-Way can opener is definitely worth it. The boys and I were discussing the quality of can openers over lunch yesterday. The Swing-a-Way makes it twice as easy to open the can of soup.

Dude,
you really ought to get with the modern world.
Check out one of them Zyliss goodies. On some cans it takes two trips around, but it cuts through the side of the seal and leave no sharp edges on the top or the can. Slick I tell you, slick!
Of course, then you can't nick yourself and tell your wife you're not capable of opening a can even and she needs to stick with the KP duty.
If a check miraculously makes it to my house, I would likely put it in the new roof fund. Writing a nearly $20k check for a roof generates a strong pucker factor

Homeowners facing financial hardship because of the coronavirus pandemic could delay their mortgage payments for up to a year.
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored enterprises that back millions of mortgages, this week said loan servicers could suspend payments for up to 12 months for homeowners experiencing a loss of income due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
The forbearance period excuses any penalties or late fees against borrowers, and the delays in payment would not be reported to credit agencies, according to Fannie and Freddie.
“The last time this happened, in the recession, this was absolutely negatively impacting people’s credit scores as their payments were derogatory,” said Scott Sheldon, senior loan officer at Sonoma County mortgages.
Servicers should also offer other payment relief options like loan modifications, typically reserved for natural disasters. Fannie and Freddie also suspended all foreclosure sales and evictions for 60 days.
“Fannie Mae, along with our lending and servicing partners, is committed to ensuring assistance is available to homeowners in need,” said Malloy Evans, senior vice president and single-Family chief credit officer at Fannie Mae, in a press release. “We encourage residents whose employment or income are impacted by COVID-19 to seek available assistance as soon as possible." Who qualifies?
You don’t have to have the virus to qualify for payment relief, both agencies said. The relief also applies to any type of property: your primary home, second home, or investment properties.
Fannie and Freddie can reevaluate the borrower’s ability to pay during the forbearance period to make sure the plan is still needed. After the forbearance period, Fannie and Freddie told servicers to work out an affordable repayment plan with the borrower, which could include extending the term of the loan.
But it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to contact their mortgage servicer if they are struggling financially.
“We ask that servicers be responsive to potential requests for assistance from borrowers who may be impacted by COVID-19,” said Kevin Palmer, senior vice president of single-family portfolio management at Freddie Mac.
Oh yeah. stock up on brandy, Christian Brothers grade. That was my grandmother's cure for every ailment. Pretty cool as a kid, and it worked. (Old World peasant's remedy)

Blue tarps is way cheaper.
Can buy a whole lotta blue tarps for that kinda money. Them real big ones too.
Use that $1200 from the gooberment on checks and take the rest of that fund down to the Piggly Wiggly and stock up on TP and some of that fancy vitamin water in the little bottles. That way, if'n you can't find no beans and rice on the shelf when you run out, at least you gots some vitamins.

Nope... Only with Rifles in Pa, Handguns have to go through an FFL.

No private transfers in parking lots allowed?
He's a private individual. Yes parking lot transfers are allowed in PA for rifles, not for handguns. FFL's and LGS's are all but suspended right now, nothing is open.

and here I thought those kind of things only happened in Cali, which everyone everywhere seems to want to run down.
I just looked at the formula proposed. Those who need it most get the least.
Typical Republican pandering to the base. I am a life long Republican, or was...
It’s not as if $75K and $100K are the cutoff for having bills. Folks with more income than 75K and 100K just have bigger bills. Further, after Trumps tax overhaul eliminated myriad Itemized deductions for the middle class, taxable incomes increased while tax rates were reduced.
Ultimately, it looks like the middle and upper middle class will take it on the chin, thus keeping them in the middle class indefinitely. Ironic, no?

Be sure there are suck a$$ policies here Geno, I don't think as severe or as many as Cali but they are here. Yes we can still buy TP.

I’m a GC in So Cal. Jobs Have been canceling left and right. 3 so far and waiting to see what happens next.. My wife owns a hair salon, requested to shut down, but Property management company still wants their monthly rent. We are a White middle class family that’s 1099. Probably won’t get jack, but a bill. Hope I’m wrong , but I doubt it
