I love steak, but will take prime rib over it any day.

Grilled burgers with pineapple on Friday and asked myself why the hell I hadn't done it in like 2 months.
I started a real tschidt storm on here awhile back when I pointed out that it is difficult to take pictures that do justice to the food being pictured. You would have thought that I had insulted people's sisters or raped their mother's cooking. At this time, I would like to say that there have been some beautiful pictures of food today.

I made a mess of home made sauerkraut with kielbasa and hotdogs in the crock pot today...it turned out great but these pics have me aching for some beef!

Man, I am really hungry. I am about to let some fillet mignons out of the fridge to get room temp before I introduce them to 650 degrees of searing hot Weber.

Went to the hills today w/ the kid and gkids and burned about 2k calories. Tonight we'll dine on bison cheeseburgers w/ Havarti and Cheddar and a pile of sweet potato oven fries.
Great thread, life goes on and counting your blessings makes it good.

I agree. Was about to say the same. Just can't eat a whole burger that easily or a big steak. Wife and I usually split stuff like that.

In your pics you look to be in good shape. However, judging by your food pics I’d guess that you were tippin’ ‘em at about 300. Good for you if you if you can wolf that stuff down. I could eat like that and more once upon a time, but those days are history.
Great pics by you in every forum.

Actually, I'm quite in agreement on both points. I had a buddy from Broadcasting School that got into that line of work-- photographing food. It was quite a remarkable job. He'd use mashed potatoes as a substitute for ice cream and stuff like that. P&G is here, so there's a lot of work like that. After he learned his trade he took a job in Dallas, and became quite successful.
Part of the reason we have good food pics now is that we don't need hot lights to shoot the pics. He was using low ASA 50mm film and a room full of lights to do his thing.

I have a high metabolism and always have been on the thinner side with a hard time putting weight on.
You're right, I should weigh 300 plus with th amount of food I put away!
Glad you enjoy the pictures. Have a good day

At the risk of sounding as lame as I am I don't know how to post pics since my photobucket account went down. PM me a cell number or email and I'll send you a pic to post for me. I took a pic that night but didn't spend anytime on presentation.

Good afternoon - perhaps evening already in Indiana - I trust that you and yours are well and had as good an Easter weekend as possible.
Mostly I wanted to send a sincere thanks to you and some of the other "food photo" artists like 99 who truly create works of art with a camera.
I'm reluctant to use the term "gifted" as that implies you all don't have to work for the crisp, clear and centered results you get, and as with most things I'm cognizant that doesn't happen in a vacuum.
Thanks so much for the visual feast of your respective actual feasts all, it's truly a treat for me and I'm sure others too.
All the best to you all and do stay well.
Dwayne
Hey Dwayne, good to hear from you. I hope you, and family had a great Resurrection Sunday.
wabigoon;
Thanks for the greeting, we did in a different "Covid19" sorta way thanks.
Have texted our youngest and our eldest brought her car first and then her husband's over and I changed the snow tires out for summers for them.
We store the tires here, I've got all the tools and honestly we had a grand visit as she sat 20' away and we went over all the stuff in life these days.
Honestly as a parent of adult children, I am always glad to find meaningful things to be able to do for them, so I jumped at the chance and again it was a grand time for both of us.
Hoping you all stay well sir.
Dwayne
Dwayne, I remember years back when your kids were kids!
We're all getting old....
Lapua, your (most excellent)food pics always make me hungry!
Same for you Paul!
Sam;
Thanks for the greeting from you my cyber friend, I hope you and your family are well.
Indeed I recall when they were young too Sam and for the life of me the number of years that have passed doesn't compute most days....
It's been a faster ride than I'd anticipated Sam, that's for sure.
My goodness aren't the photos something Sam!!?
On about the 4th page I wasn't sure I couldn't smell them!!
All the best to you folks Sam, here's to better and less exciting times - soon.
Dwayne
10-4 man, good to hear from you.
BC30cal/ Sam,
Thanks for your kind words. All is well in Indiana and Happy Easter you both.
As I have aged in life, my appetite for fine food increased a tremendous amount as it shows by my pictures. One day we will all have to get together to shaare a meaal. I'll do the grilling!
Stay safe.
Round 2 to hold me till morning
$hit, haven't cooked much meat lately !
Lamb loin chops;
Venison shanks;
Smoked a ham for Easter Sunday dinner;
That's a good steak right there. Good marble and flakes throughout. The only way to screw that one up is to over cook it.
Finally a photo of a piece of meat that hasn't been over cooked!
Venni backstrap, chili prawns n garlic mash;
Are you a plant from the leftists trying to kill everyone here? Repent and start keto.
Lapua's got some good take out in his locale! Making me hungry!

Beef is getting expensive due to Covid and in some stores hard to get decent cuts. I just cut up a whole boneless rib roast into 16 rib eye steaks. Having the trial grill tonight...hope it is good.

Love a good ribeye! I would rather have a great burger than ask so steak. If it wasn’t blowing 30 miles per hour I would be grilling a burger right now. Ed k

Already in the freezer..sorry. Steaks ran about a pound and were 1 inch thick. I have never put a picture on this site. I guess i should try to figure it all out but I am not much with a computer. I have a hard enough time just typing a post...LOL

yeah hard to grill in the wind. I am on the lake so a west wind blows right in on my deck and makes it hard to control the heat. South or north wind not so bad.

The rib eyes were really tender and great flavor similar to prime rib. I will look forward to the other 15 steaks I cut from that piece of meat..
Homemade smash burgers off the flat top !

Salmon burger didn't suck either.
Peach pepper jam !
Backstrap mignon;

Beautiful........
Oh my that looks delicious!
Nothin like a little extra seasoning from the sht that's been growin on the grill for 6 months.
Looking at all of that good food has made me hungry.
Wagyu strip loin for dinner tother night. That’s $400 worth of beef on that grill. Glad it wasn’t my money.
It was good, if anything milder than other beef. Tender and juicy.
But, normally I pay between $7-10/lb for strip loin on sale. Nobody will convince me that this was 10-15 times better beef.
Knockin it outta da park Man !
All frikken beautiful.
Haven't had wagu since we left Australia, so 15 years I guess.
Super rich, buttery & delicious.
Shawama spiced 1/3lb lamb burgers, lettuce & tomato from the garden, a touch of greek yogurt & toasted brioche bun.
Great sear from the flat top !
These turned out pretty good last night:
where i come from chicken aint the same as steak
You obviously haven't read the whole thread, 'cause Lap & I have been posting "other meats" to !
A perfectly cooked chicken breast, beats an over cooked steak, every time.
YMMV
ok, sor-REE...
Traeger Bacon Wrapped Beer Can Burger Day:
The fillings and toppings. Grab your burger, fill it with what you want, and on the traeger it goes.

With bourbon bbq glazed bacon wrapped shrimp:
And, have moved to plant based for a bit. Giving it a try for a year or so to see how lipids and other things work out. Trying to avoid more stents. Still goin' hunting this fall, and will be grillin' and smokin' up whatever we get.
"Impossible Burgers". Smoked for 30 mins, and finished off in hot cast iron skillet with a little oil, rosemary and thyme.
Not the best burgers we've had, but they are 95% of the way there. Still working on it, but they have a lot of damn potential. Won't replace a true, juicy burger, but still a nice option when doing this plant based diet nonsense and one has a hankerin' for a burger.
Steak at home;
Burger n dessert in Winnipeg;
The way my wife likes steaks, or, oops!
