Wife's little great-nephew, 9 years old, killed a bird on the youth hunt yesterday that must have had 1 1/2 inch spurs. Son took his 13 year old girl, and they needed one to come about 10 more yards, but some hens came along and took him off. Hard to put the sneak on turkeys this early in the season.

birds out back are pitching a fit. still a month til the season opener here in PA. at this rate, the birds will be all tuckered out by then. i had one out back yesterday that was no schit dragging his beard. head was red as a rose. must have weighed 25 lbs. problem around here is that i ain't the only one hearing them and come sunrise on opening day there will be 3 or 4 numbskulls down over the hill off my property squawking away. happens every year. if i can catch one before it leaves my hill then i am good. otherwise the turk around here get smart pretty quick.

And my dad the deer meat mooch from whoever he could get it from who didnt hunt, but loved ta save a buck for his vices.

Ate alot of venison and fish growing up in maine.
Cooked alot while my kids were growing up as novelty meals for em.
Was like maybe 4 or 5 times a year for them and I would eat venison 2 or 3 or more times a month thruout the year.

Renegade I was just curious, my guess is there's not to many vegetarians that hunt. I can relate to being a trophy hunter, now I guide hunters on our property and very rarely kill a deer or turkey. In my meat room at the barn we process 50+ deer every year that my family or friends kill on our property. I make all the summer sausage, smoked jalapeno cheese sausage, and do most of the outdoor cooking. My speciality is a whole smoked NY strip loin, cooked low and slow to 115 degrees.

No one has hunted for em in years on the feild
# 3 Adjacent owner has indian material cave on his place
Other 2 owners spoke of that and finds decades ago around the entire area around the spring flowage and relatives passed away that found stuff also
