First I want to say I think Mike Pence is a good man and has done the job of Vice President admirably. But... I don’t think he’s electable in 2024 if Trump wins this November. As Vice President he’d be a heavy favorite for the Republican nomination. I think that’s a real problem. There’s some really good Republicans that need to build their national profile and I believe Mike Pence being VP limits them somewhat. Pence is a stiff with little charisma and it takes charisma and stage presence to win the presidency. I’m wishing Pence would find a way to bow out with dignity and the respect he deserves and make way for a more dynamic VP to be groomed and positioned for the ‘24 campaign. I don’t know who that person should be but what’s the Campfires’ take ? Am I all wrong on this ?

You have some valid points yet we saw the other 16 republican presidential candidates in the primary season in 2015 and I'll stick with Pence.
Posted By: rockinbbar Re: VP Pence ? - 05/21/20
You don't notice a VP much when there's a sitting POTUS. Especially in an election year, beyond regular campaigning appearances.

It's the last year of an 8 year presidency that they start to get out more.

Pence is okay, but so far he's not really in the limelight. No need for him to be. Yet.

He’s been running the Chinese virus task force and watching him robot through those press conferences and him standing next to my Governor DeSantis this week just put him in stark contrast. I don’t think of DeSantis as all that Charismatic but DeSantis has way more personality and presence than Pence. I like Pence but I see him getting clobbered by a capable democrat opponent. I don’t see Pence going around the Democrats media propagandist with Twitter or holding an impromptu chopper presser like Trump does. It’s going to take a street fighter like Trump to win ‘24. Win in ‘24 and ‘28 and institutional level change will have happened. The deep state will be our guys not communist. Win this November and a real start at institutional change set in. Win in ‘24 and ‘28 and we’re completely in charge.

I can't agree with you. I think he would be a great choice but very few VP's get the job after their POTUS. We know that their personalities are 180 degrees apart. I think he is the straight guy of the two while DJT is the comedy portion of the duo.

Hopefully if we do get a dear leader bloodline like the Norks we’ll start executing chitheads like you with anti aircraft guns just like the Norks ! We could make a real dent in the national debt selling pay per view. Don Jr could line you and the rest of the Campfire communist turds up and do a penetration test smile

If the Dems win the Senate, they’re going to Impeach Trump and then we get Pence. 2024 he may be the incumbent

We don't need anymore royal families like the Kennedys, Murkowskis, Bushes, Romneys, Browns, Pelosi/Newsome etc etc etc.

Our district in NorCal has a guy who was Assemblyman, he moved up to State Senate, his wife got elected Assemblywoman. Guess we know who's family is living off the taxpayers' money?

The Presidency, Senate, Governorships, even Congress is not the same as fuggin Smith and Son's plumbing.

Seems I recall history classes about this little Revolution back a coupla hundred years or more. Seems they were getting away from Royal Family rule.

If the Repubs can't come up with other than another Trump, the country is in worse shape than I thought.

I like Pence, a lot.

I don't know if he'd be electable in '24.... but I do know he is pretty squeaky clean, vetted, and some moderates may like the '20 ticket more than they would otherwise because of how Pence handled the COVID tast force.

Said another way, I'd hate to jeopardize 4 more years of MAGA by making a late VP change that could introduce some element of risk.

Let's win '20 first, and worry about '24 after that.
Posted By: BKinSD Re: VP Pence ? - 05/21/20
I don't think Pence is the guy myself. I think we can probably do better. And probably should.

NOPE! Pence is qualified. DJTjr is not. And 2020 comes before 2024...
Posted By: horse1 Re: VP Pence ? - 05/21/20
I'm praying there's a Trump/Pence win in 2020. After that, hard to say. Pence could easily use the entire 2nd term as a 2024 campaign, or, he may decide that he's done enough and is ready to live life out of the limelight.

There's nothing I've seen or heard from Pence during this term that would lead me to believe he'd have any issue giving anyone he wished a good and proper verbal beat-down.

I'd go so far as to say Pence could tell you he's gonna whoop you. Whoop you. Then tell you why he whooped you and that if you don't behave he'll do it again.

What about the envelope?

All the NWO bad actors and ObamaGate criminals got "the" envelope at Bush Sr's funeral . Hillary, Biden, Cheney, Obama, Bush. All of these criminals were visibly taken back when they opened the envelope.
VP Pence got the same envelope, so why would he be included in this select few of Deep State Establishment criminals?

The good news for Pence is, we have seen the current crop of Democrats, and they are all really bad, incompetent and unelectable.
Posted By: MontanaMan Re: VP Pence ? - 05/22/20
I like Pence, & I think he might be capable, but maybe not............but either way, I don't see him as being electable on his own merits.

Going to be tough for any GOP nominee in 2024.

America changes the Party in the WH every 8 years.

I could get a Dem elected in 2024. Just find some Bull Clinton like moderate talker that says he won’t grab guns, he‘Lll continue the economy but tone down the rhetoric and “get along” and he’s in

Will not be a 2024 if do not get rid of the democrats now. The democrats are concentrating on keeping the house and wining the senate. With both senate and house they will not care who is president. Besides they can impeach with control in both houses. Do not let the democrats sucker you. The democrat anti-American/socialist/communist policies, rules, regulations, and taxes will destroy America forever if we do not vote the democrats out of power in the 2020 election. They should be removed from office and off all the ballots for they offer nothing for America or the people to help make the country better.

He seems to be a good man. If Trump wins again in the fall and Pence is the VP for 4 more years, I don't think he will become President in the following election. Personally, I don't think he would get the nomination.

By 2024 we'll have huge numbers of new liberals from our public schools who will be of voting age. With them controlling our schools, I see nothing good for the future of this country.

You forgot? It takes a 2/3 vote to remove a president. Not going to happen.

Pence is a good guy, but I think the Republicans can do better. I'm not sure if he has the killer instinct. Petty much any of the guys in the Freedom Caucus and there's a bunch of Republican governors that would work as well. Plus, Cruz is still out there.

Pence made a tremendous speech at the NRA Convention in Charlotte several years ago. No one knew who he was at the time. He brought the crowd to its feet. I think he is a good man and leader.

The Ofice of VP has been called the road to Anonymity, Oblivion, Nowhere...
Often just the gate to the pasture.

I don't think that is the case for Mike. He may not be a presumptive nominee, but he is capable, and conservative with a cool head. I think he would do a fine job of keeping the train on the tracks..
Remember after a period of much change, a period of stabilization is the best course. If only to prepare for the next push.

This - when Trump is gone -----> downhill from there .
The dem/communist have played the game FAR FAR better than the GOP/conservatives Trump barely sqeeked by in running against a total duushbag . Yeah there was a lot of cheating going on - but remember ''that's part of the game'' that the communist have conquered .

Pence isn't electable - too stiff - when watching him speak he just doesn't deliver the message in a good way .
His body language standing with desantis gave me pause .

Why not? Seems to be quite the thing over the years. Even in the SW.

Are the Udalls still in the business? In laws perhaps? (Udall & Family, Inc. Specializing in Local, State, and Federal politics........We know the Business of doing Politics smirk )

Besides them, it seems there are a few others:

https://www.azcentral.com/picture-g...9/families-in-arizona-politics/36735465/

And, if I'm not mistaken, there's some new kids on the block, so to speak, there in AZ. Gabbie's husband Mark is running this year, no?

I hate the idea all the way around.. Not just in your State Sycamore. Cali is rife with it. So many other states too.
