The address has to end with the file type: .jpg or .png. Take out anything after that and [img]https://i.imgur.com/3n9MZbr.jpg?1[/img] becomes...

Tikkanut's link worked, but your original did not. Go back and edit your original post adding a "s" to the "Http" portion of your link.

Things are not easy with computers and code. One incorrect character or punctuation mark and ones intentions go to sh-t.

Don't use Imgur myself, but somewhere one should be able to click on the desired image and the sharing link should pop up whereupon one can copy and past it into the image code available in the full editor here.

If one wants to see the source addresses for images visible here. Right click over the image, and click on properties. The address should be a portion of the response.

So, do you have a choice of what to copy and paste? Chose hotlink for forum? Just paste it don't use any of the editor chit here.... Wish you'd get it together. LOL

Just so ya got 100 people telling you different ways to make this work I'll start the process.....

I kinda dig Imgur, out of all the image host over all the years they seem to be about the cleanest and most fool proof.

When I want to load some images to share here on the fire I do this..

I get them selected and do my uploads to Imgur, once they are all in one of my folders there I start to create my post here.

I'll scroll down my list at Imgur and "right click" on each image I want to work with. The "right click" opens a menu and I select "open in new tab", So now I have multiple tabs open, one for each photo.

As I create my post, I reference the tabs and select an image at a time by copying the url from the images tab and then pasting it into my post either by typing in the HTML code [img][/img] or by using the Full Editor option here and pasting to the pop-up window that opens when you click on the image option from the Full Editor tool bar.

I am well aware there is a simpler way at Imgur to capture the correct URL for my images, but this is just what works consistently for me plus I get a full size preview of the image I'm about to post before it's posted.

Now, carry on and do whatever works best for you......good luck..

Well, yeah... If there's only one choice how can it get phucqked up? On postimage you just copy from the link for "hotlink for forum" and paste the fugger.

Easy as can be. Copy the link that says BBCode (message boards and forums) and paste it directly not using any BS from this site.

Thanks, MtnBoomer, that is exactly my problem, that technique works perfectly on every other board but this one . If I follow you precisely, this is what I get:

I always have trouble remembering the correct combination the times that I do post a picture. So I use the "preview reply" before I actually post it, then I check to see if it worked before actually posting for real.

Thanks, that make the situation even more goofy, I can click on that link and it opens to a nice photo. Nobody else on the board seems to be able to do so.

This link is just to the “folder”. Youve got to go one level further to be only on the specific picture.

Again, the link must end in .jpg or it will not work.

Looks like you’ve got a space after .jpg and before the bracket.

So , Cheesy, I see what I did there with the space. After you deleted the space, did the post open with the picture itself or did you have to click on the link to see it?

I deleted the space in the post I quoted from you. I then posted that. It shows the picture within your quote. Viewable here on the fire without having to go externally to imgur.

Weird, you are getting that ?1 somewhere. I can not duplicate getting the ?1 from mine. I will eventually switch to Imgur from postimage....

When you hit Preview Reply, that is exactly as it will appear once posted.

That ?1 is in the BB code from Imgur, it shows up in the links posted to other boards and does not cause any problems at all, on other boards all I have to do is copy the BB code and paste it in the test block of the post, when it gets opened by other members it shows a nice picture without having to screw around opening links. etc.

Wish I had an 11 year old greatgranddaughter to sit here with me and explain all this crap to me. Trying to figure it out on my own sometimes gets aggrevating.
