My bday present, so I just told my overjoyed wife.

Nice looking revolver, priced right too
Damn you....the burnt bronze one is gonna get ordered.
Aluminum frame instead of steel the only difference?
Hey at least you're going to love this birfday present. Unlike the leg lamp from A Christmas Story. Right?
I'm going to have to get one of these.
MSRP $249 - that translates to $199 at the counter - that is a SWEET deal
Rather have one of these than a Heritage.....

Yep. Any day!
Not my thing - but cool. I'll bet they'll sell bucketloads of 'em.
Once they prove to run better than the Bearcat, I’ll be tempted.
Maybe in a couple years Lipseys will get them to do some with adjustable sights. Lightweight Single Six

For sure. I think Heritage just lost it's share of the market.

Silver been looking for a 4" three screw anywho, hope these index like the new Bearcats
Wonder if anyone actually has any in stock yet?
Wonder if anyone actually has any in stock yet?
Not that I could find
No stock yet. I ordered couple dozen. See where my place in line is. Zero wholesalers had them today. Waiting list only. Bye bye heritage.
Nice trap line gun was the first thing that came to mind.
Good thing my gun buying days are over or I'd be $200 poorer.
Very cool. Good on Ruger.
My bday is a little over 4 months off, so I'm banking on them being available. My very first gun ever was a High Standard Double Nine, which also had an aluminum frame.
Congrats! Enjoy.
i like it a lot, especially the bronze. weight is good (30 oz), cylinder, frame, and barrel are all aluminum. steel inserts for chambers and barrel. cerakote does eventually wear, but i would honestly expect one of these to last as long as a normal single six. accuracy should be similar.
im buying one as soon as they show up at the local shop.

Frame is the aluminum part, not the barrel and cylinder, from my understanding.

hmmm, it says “cylinder frame material” is aluminum ... maybe they just mean frame

heck i like it even more if the barrel and frame are steel.
Just need a 22 mag cyl too for $249 Ill buy one regardless. I need a beater 22 for the boat that dont lock up like those heritages

Wording these days is so odd, must be for the nimrods.

itll be head and heels over a heritage
thanks! thats a great article
Not sure I like the looks of the finish on those? Heck, maybe they look better in person. I do want to have a closer look at one.

With single actions some might be confused between grip frame, and cylinder frame.
From what I understand, the Wrangler has a zinc alloy grip frame, and aluminum cylinder frame. The cylinder and barrel are steel.

The black on black looks nicest to me. It would look pretty nice with some wood grips, and supposedly the Single-Six grips fit it, so there are a lot of options out there.

Thats what my thoughts were as well. Its gotta be alot better than a heritage. My dad gave my brother and me a heritage a few years ago for Christmas. It locks up when cocking it alot. It stays in the box in the safe since it was a gift from my dad.
This little ruger will be perfect woods companion without worrying if you drop it or get it wet. Ill buy one and if they come out with a convertible one ill prob get one too.

Ive got a HS Double Nine Longhorn with the 9 1/2” barrel that I still like to shoot occasionally. Which reminds me the cylinder stop has seen better days so I should probably order up a new one
I have a Double Nine that I got from a pawn shop about 12 years ago. It and a H&R 999 are my childhood 22 handguns

You might have a point there, MM. I think that for the price I may have to try one out. The black one would be the one I would choose, most likely. I would spring for new grips, also.
KYGUNCO is showing them at $173. None in stock yet.
Here's the review by Jeff Quinn from Gun blast. Excellent review.

Has he ever given a bad review?
Has he ever given a bad review?
First thing I thought of too.
Has he ever given a bad review?
Good question. But then I've never seen him review a dog.
Has he ever given a bad review?
Might be he only reviews stuff he is gonna like?
I don't understand the appeal. Couple more bucks you can get a single six with lr and wmr cylinders and adjustable sights. This looks like a cap gun and it goes bang. It wouldn't shine in damn near any application except maybe popping cans at 15yds. Cheap has never motivated me to buy anything.
My opinion only, if you like em, buy and enjoy. I'm just glad we live in a country with so many choices in firearms,
That we can argue about which is best.
Our biggest LGS is taking early orders now. $179.99 for all models.

By "a couple more bucks" you must mean two and a half times as much because I don't see em anywhere for less than $500.

They'd be perfect for a trap line beater. I'd buy one if I was still trapping.
They’ll sell tons. I may not buy one though.
bump
Any of these made distribution to dealers? Have a pair spoken for but had not heard anything at all of consumers with their "hands full."

They are out there. Folks have been shooting them for a month now. Some of them are shooting quite well, some are not (usually that's a user malfunction, not the gun). You can't shoot a silver-colored gun in bright daylight with cheap-azz ammo (Thunderbolts) at 25yds and have great expectations. Poor preparation gives poor results, always.
They are hard to find, the local shops have waiting lists, and they're whittling away at those every chance they can, but demand is outstripping supply at present. Patience is called for.
My brother and a friend of his each bought one last week at Dad's Pawn + Gun in Gulfport, Ms. for $179.95. They only had the bronze finish in stock. The salesman told him they're selling as fast as they come in.
He's been having fun rolling tin cans.
Cool...especially that bronze item..
LMAO... Just checked out the specs on these handguns and note they're OK for ship to California, but NOT to Minnesota.. WTH??? Geez...
I've read the same things about Minnesota sales, but I saw them for sale at the last MWCA gun show at the fair grounds. I'm not sure what the deal is.

its the zinc gripframe ... melting point is too low to pass the “saturday night special” statutes
Fondled one yesterday. Heavier than one would think, but far from burdensome. Action felt a bit rough, but should smooth out with oil and use. Put my thumb between the hammer and frame, trigger didn't feel too terrible.
Pretty awesome truck/tacklebox/trapline pistol for a couple bills, IMO.
You could get the action smoothed and a trigger job. Maybe add some grips. When you're done, you probably won't have any more in it than a Single Six.
What the heck, if they get more folks into the shooting sports so be it.
Fondled one the other day at Sportsman’s Warehouse.
Seemed a nice piece with the exception of a mediocre trigger. Similar to other Ruger SA pistols.
$199.99
I did it today at the Whorehouse for $179 out the door. The silver bitch. Always wanted a cheap single action 22 but just couldn't stomach a Heritage GagMeRider. So there.
Let’s know how it performs
