Stainless 75B. 2 mags and a Milt Sparks holster.
Can't wait to put some rds through it tomorrow. Fits like a glove. Went to buy a compact, but the beaver tail on them isn't upswept and it dug Into my hand. Came close to buying a 2075 RAMI and might have if this hadn't been laying there. Picked it up, pointed it and said yep.

That’s a looker.
That's a beauty, and yes, they do feel great in the hand. Great guns, too. And a great holster.

Anxious to see if the trigger slap you warned me about will be a problem.... After you mentioned it, and a quick Google search, it seems to be fairly common. If the compact would have had the upswept beavertail, I'd have bought it, but really liking the stainless for a truck console gun.
Yep. Should serve well for that.

I had a .40 some years ago, and trigger slap was real for me. A few months ago I bought a Omega Convertible, which allegedly doesn't have that issue. After about 100 rounds, that seems to be true, plus the trigger is a good bit crisper. SS isn't available for that model, yet.

In addition to the simpler trigger, the Omega Convertible is easily switched between DA/SA mode and Decocker mode, where the safety becomes a decocker. It came that way, and will stay like that for now, unless I decide to carry the heavy bastard.

I tested the old .40 to see if I could make it malfunction by limp-wristing it, but it just kept on chugging, even when held as loose as possible without losing it. The weight and low slide running inside the frame are responsible for that, I think. My favorite auto, kind of a cross between a High Power and a 92. Worlds most issued pistol, according to some, and widely copied.

Next up is the .22 unit.

I do like the holster also.

You made a great choice. I'm a big fan of the full size and compact models, but the RAMI has always felt clunky to me.
Posted By: jackmountain Re: CZ75 followed me home - 02/11/20
Kinda same here. If I'm buying a subcompact it's for concealed carry. RAMI seems thick for that application.

Nice pistol. I've been wanting one for some time. Had a couple over the years and ended up selling them. Best I had was a Tangfolio TZ-75 blued gun that I bought in the '80's. Definitely wish I still had that one.

I bought a compact Tanfaglio in the 1980s and a full sized in the ‘90s. Still have the full sized one.

Nope. Two different cities. The Chiefs are in the Missouri one.

I had an early CZ-75, it came in from Canada. I think the Tanfoglio I had later, was better built than the actual CZ that I owned, it shot better, for danged sure. I'm NOT a CZ hater, but I have to give the Italians their due, it was a lot better finished, and shot better. I have eleven CZ rifles currently, so I don't dislike the CZ brand at all.

I have a Milt Sparks IWB hoster in black horsehide for my Smith L-frame. Nice stuff. Think I waited 6 weeks for mine.

You've got yourself a pretty rig.

BTW, buy recoil springs direct from CZ; they're much cheaper. Every 5000 rounds is the replacement interval. They offer both steel and polymer guide rods too, also cheap.

Lead us not into temptation... I've wanted to try a CZ 75 Compact or that 75B Stainless that you have, but I have yet to find one. I asked my WI. dealer why they don't stock the CZ's and he told me that CZ demands that a gun shop carry their entire line of inventory and that is big dollars for most places. I am lobbying for our gun club here to rent a bus and go to Shooter's World in Orlando to see if they have have CZ's to try out.

I've read a lot of good things about how Cajun Gun Works reworks a CZ and I'd bet that they could fix over about any CZ to how ever you wanted it.
Gratz, Jack. Everyone should have one, Col. Cooper told us that decades ago, you know he wouldn't lead us astray.

Here's mine:

Your dealer is mistaken. To buy direct from CZ, yes you have to make a certain financial commitment. However, you don't have to carry the whole inventory. Our shop just carries the pistols and Scorpions. Any dealer can order CZs from any of the distributors like RSR, Sports South and Lipseys. They just have to pay a little more.

I have the P01 compact version of the 75 and it's big brother, the EAA Witness - both of them out-shoot most of my others. I think if I had to thin down to a single platform, it likely would be some variation of the CZ 75...

i bought two cz israeli mil surp a few years ago the 75b, and he compac marked masadi.
they are the son of the hi power as far as i am concerned.
balance perfectly in my hand like a hi power, both have ambi safties(left handed) and point real easy.
cooper was right.
i don't think either of them has had 5000 rounds through them, but the spring idea is a good one.

Around here you have a hard time finding anything new to finger except the usual Glocks, Rugers, Springfields, Smiths, and of late, Sigs. I knew what I wanted, found it at Sportsmans Guide, and had it sent to a local license holder. In the process, I located a good guy who will do transfers for $12. The closest gunshop just went up to $50, supposedly to discourage internet buyers. Seems like a strange strategy from an outfit with next to nothing in stock and full retail on anything they do have.

If they'd only had blued guns, I'd have bought the SP01 over the 75B.

I have a feeling it's going to lead to more CZ purchases. REALLY liking it so far. Shoots soft and the controls are perfect for my hands.

Great looking pistol, mine is easily one of my most accurate pistols. I sent mine to CZ Customs and they did a full action job on it. Will eventually change out the sights as I don't care for 3-dot sights.

The only complaint I had with mine was the factory plastic grips. I was using mine in a USPSA match (production class) when the grips cracked and fell off on one side. I had to finish the match with the grip missing, that sucked. I replaced them with some VZ's.

Enjoy!

Ryan, are the VZ's noticeably thinner than the originals?

$500 was a steal BSA! Have never even handled their polymer offerings. Shot a mag full through it this evening when i got home, but looking forward to the weekend when I can run it through it's paces at the cabin. Hate to say it, but it fits the hand better than a 1911. Definitely more comfortable than my HK USP

This one came with hard rubber grips. Do they come stock with plastic? These have the CZ logo on them?
If anything, from an aesthetic view, a pair of Nill grips look damn nice, but Im not much of a fan of wood on a handgun.

Jackmoutain,

The way things are going here in Virginia looks like you, and I, will have to either sell our CZ75s or license it thru the State Police, at least that is what the house bill that just past said. Lets hope the Senate does better, and of course there are the courts.

I just purchased a CZ75D Compact PCR a few months ago and have been very happy with it. The CZ75 was the only double stack high capacity handgun I could find that fit my hand and felt good to shoot.

You can do what you want, but you can bet your ass the one in the pic above won't be registered and sure as hell won't be confiscated. They better think long and hard about what they're starting, because I don't think they have the stomach to finish it. I don't need a court to define what my rights are, the founders were crystal clear, and they were also crystal clear about what to do if elected officials try to deny us of these guaranteed protections of our natural born rights.

Bloomberg got scared away from the grand opening of his campaign office in Virginia by 200 folks protesting. Wait til they see what 200,000 armed citizens looks like.

If you're actually thinking of complying, look at the map of sanctuary counties. We are the majority. The numbers don't lie. They can not win if we stick together which means "we will not comply"

Watch the video. This is how we win, by standing up and saying no.

If that stainless 75B is still there this weekend, I'll snag it and add it to the collection. Keep us posted on how you like yours. I'm sure it will drive tacks. I blew the 1" orange sticker right out of the target last weekend with my CZ P09, then it was off to shooting steel.

CZ97 is an option. LGS I bought this one at didn't have one on hand, and never has when I've checked. Seem a little harder to find.

Oh I agree with you 100% I don't plan to give mine up, but a loss to the gun grabbers in court will stop this stuff from going throughout the rest of the country. The VCDL will take this to court.

As I recall (it's been about 2 years), they are about the same profile as the factory grips. They offer a "slim line" in their 1911 grips, but I think the CZ grips are all standard thickness (as far as I know).

Jack - yes, these were plastic and they had the CZ logo on them.
Thank you, sir. The factory grips feel just a bit thick to me.
Love the CZ's. Had one in .40 I bought off here that I should've never sold. Got a .45 that'll never get sold. Would like to buy another in .40 someday.

After doing a little web-fu, everything I've found says that the standard VZ grips are thinner than the factory, mainly because they are a flat profile and do not have the swell that the factory grips have. The flat ones are the ones that I have. They offer a "palm swell" version and I guess those are more of the factory profile.

Which versions of the CZ75 or clones are single action or DA/SA? I really prefer a SA trigger and carry my 1911 in condition one. Not interested in DA only or decocker.
Posted By: RyanTX Re: CZ75 followed me home - 02/12/20
My 75B can be fired DA/SA (starting with hammer down), or it can be carried cocked and locked just like a 1911. No decocker on mine.

I have 2 75's 1 a original made over there and a newer compact one like them both. A while back I picked up a CZ 2075 Rami in 40 S &W it's quite a handful with full throttle 180 gr FMJ's, bought it used, didn't look like it had been shot much 2 magazines maybe and only took me 1 mag to figure out why. Shot great but it is a handful . Like CZ's. MB

I don't know if they make a single action only. I think the one with the simple 1911 style thumb safety also has double action capability. It's just that there's no decocker on it, so most just ignore that feature, and only use it like a single action, and carry it cocked and locked like a 1911. That's called the 75B. The 75D is the one with decock only.

What started me down the CZ road was a blued version of the one you just bought - handled one at the LGS and immediately started shopping for the compact. I really wanted the 75 D PCR model but couldn't locate one, but am very happy with the P01.

cz Does offer a single action only. However the da/sa can be super slick. I have several and just picked up a 97b which is very much the same gun in 45acp. Hard to go wrong

I have a 75 compact. I upgraded to the Cajun Gun Works Pro Kit. Easy installation and they have a variety of options. Short reset trigger, lightened springs and shortened the trigger pull by 7mm. Great pistol and an even better shooter with the upgrades.

Enjoy! That’s a fine weapon.

It's just that there's no decocker on it, so most just ignore that feature, and only use it like a single action, and carry it cocked and locked like a 1911. That's called the 75B. The 75D is the one with decock only.

Small correction--the decocker only is the BD.

When I didn't have the filters at work blocking me, I did a quick search and found there are SA only conversions available too. I'd love to give a 97 a try because the 45 is my preference, but was thinking about a 75 because I don't own a 9mm. Might have to do both and maybe a 1911 in 9mm or 38 super for giggles too.

The 97 is a very comfortable pistol to shoot, but it's a boat anchor. The one I had was accurate and reliable.

At our shop, the P01 outsells the PCR by quite a bit but I've never understood it. Nobody puts a light on the rail and the PCR is a much better looking gun.

They look almost the same, except for the length of the frame's dust cover.

So pcr is identical to the compact other than the 4oz. Less weight due to alloy instead of steel?

I like the look of the P01. I've never had a weapon mounted light, but could see it on the gun on my nightstand.

The dustcover on the P01 is also fatter.

I need to get my hands on a 97. Love my 1911, but the cz75 fits like it grew there. The 97 the same?

Same for the 97B. It IS a handful though, girthy. But damned comfortable and accurate. But also as has been said, heavy. smile You can definitely use as a bludgeon if she runs dry.

The PO1 is alloy too but weighs a bit more than the PCR. They're great guns. The Canik clones imported by Tristar are superb as well.

The Omega gives you either option and comes with the parts needed. The Omega trigger is simpler and more robust, according to CZ, feels better, according to me, and costs a couple of dollars less.

Mine came with checkered rubber grips that are very comfortable, with slight palm-swells.
