It’ll shoot like a Tikka.

Never owned one. Is that good??

Yep.

Yes.
The biggest issue with Tikka is that they come out of the box ready to shoot - just mount a scope and it is ready. No need to bed, replace trigger, or stock - that is a problem for most of us who are used to having to work on a rifle to make it right before using it.
Although it is almost obligatory for folks to complain about the magazine being made of polymer but I have been using T-3's for around 17 years now and never had a magazine issue.
After owning one you will wonder why don't all manufacturers turn out products this good.

The T3X have a steel recoil lug. I have never had an issue with the T3 recoil lug although most of my T3's are milder recoiling rounds.

Wait no longer.
The aluminum ones are garbage. The factory steel ones aren't much better. This is from a weak recoiling 22-250:
The aftermarket stainless lugs are much better.
How the hell did you manage that with a 22-250? Good grief.
Trade for it. You’ll likely be impressed with it as a hunting rifle. No fuss.
Just got one. Can’t wait to try it out. 22-250
My T3 in 7mm Rem Mag loves the aluminum recoil lug.

I love the Tikka T3 rifles. They are accurate out of the box, and very light to carry. They shoot good. I just love them. They are all long action too, and the actions are square from the factory. You could turn that .243 into a number of neat calibers if you had the mind too. Probably a 6mm Creed, or a 6mm, or a .240 Weatherby, or a 6mm-06. Just needs a little chamber work and the right magazine for the cartridge length. I am considering the build of a 6.5 RPM off of a stainless Creedmoor
None of my T3's have a recoil lug the gold color of that one. My aluminum ones look a silvery color like aluminum usually looks and the steel ones are a grey color like steel. I am not sure what that one is, did it come out of a factory Tikka stock?

Trade confirmed, we are meeting on Sunday.
Post back when you get it rolling, always like to hear from new Tikka fans.
Pretty certain you will be 👍
Been gathering supplies, brass, dies, etc. Ended up with a box of Hornady 105 gr BTHP Match bullets. What's the chances this rifle will stabilize them?
My Tikka T3 lite in .270 has been my hunting rifle for past 11 years ,it is a great rifle. Three years ago I bought a T3x in .308 also a. Great rifle
Have a tikka superlite in 7mm rem mag. Fluted barrel and one of the best triggers ive had on any rifle in any price range. Shooter too, but most all tikkas are. Youll be happy
I have a lefty 243. I shoot 87 and under, only cause there is no need to go heavier. 70 grain Berger HPs make 1 hole groups at 100 yards.
Here is the fast twist 22-250, can’t wait to get it sighted in. Loaded some 62 TTSX, and some 62 Bear Claws to try next week. It’s gonna be my designated piggie rifle.
I own several and I really like them!
Headed out to make the trade. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning haha.
Trade complete. I have never felt a bolt so smooth. The trigger is 2.5 - 3 pounds I'd bet and there is no take up. Now off to size some cases.....
Let us know how it shoots.
My only Tikka is a Forester in 9.3x62.
Trigger is fine (but who shoots a 9.3 from a bench if your not siteing in.) I have a synthetic/plastic and the factory wood stock. If all my other rifles went away, I could hunt the rest of my days with that Tikka and never loose sleep about it.
Moose and Bear take notice when a 286 gr. .366 cal. bullet pokes them in the ribs. My only complaint with this rifle is tha magazine capacity. More is better...
My CZ 550 FS 9.3x62 holds 5 rounds in the magazine. Not a bad rifle either but I like the Tikka better.
I have a t3x lite in 30-06 shoots great!
I have two older M65 Tikkas in 30-06 from the mid 70s. I also have a T3 in 6.5 Swede. They all shoot just over half inch groups. M65 #1 has accounted for many freezers full of moose and deer meat over the years and has digested somewhere around 2,000 rounds of ammo. I had the stock cut down for my wife and a decelerator pad put on, and she has killed two moose and a couple deer.
The T3 is a real pleasure to shoot. Factory green box ammo out of the box gave me an inch and a half 3 shot group at 200 yards. Son in law has a 243 Varmint that shoots one holers at 100 yards.
Good Rifles.
I think you’ll be happy with it. I have 2 SS Lite T3s and 1 SS Lite T3X. 270, 30-06, and a 7RM. All three were easy to find sub-MOA loads for, and the 270 and 7RM are my two most accurate big game rifles. I know it doesn’t matter from a functional standpoint, but it kind of bothers me that the short action cartridges are built on long action receivers. That’s why I’ve only bought long action cartridges. If that matters to you, buy something else for your short action chamberings. Otherwise, Tikkas are great guns.
