It’ll shoot like a Tikka. Never owned one. Is that good?? Yes. The biggest issue with Tikka is that they come out of the box ready to shoot - just mount a scope and it is ready. No need to bed, replace trigger, or stock - that is a problem for most of us who are used to having to work on a rifle to make it right before using it. Although it is almost obligatory for folks to complain about the magazine being made of polymer but I have been using T-3's for around 17 years now and never had a magazine issue. After owning one you will wonder why don't all manufacturers turn out products this good. drover

The T3X have a steel recoil lug. I have never had an issue with the T3 recoil lug although most of my T3's are milder recoiling rounds.

The aluminum ones are garbage. The factory steel ones aren't much better. This is from a weak recoiling 22-250: The aftermarket stainless lugs are much better.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

How the hell did you manage that with a 22-250? Good grief.

Trade for it. You’ll likely be impressed with it as a hunting rifle. No fuss.
Yup.

My T3 in 7mm Rem Mag loves the aluminum recoil lug.

I love the Tikka T3 rifles. They are accurate out of the box, and very light to carry. They shoot good. I just love them. They are all long action too, and the actions are square from the factory. You could turn that .243 into a number of neat calibers if you had the mind too. Probably a 6mm Creed, or a 6mm, or a .240 Weatherby, or a 6mm-06. Just needs a little chamber work and the right magazine for the cartridge length. I am considering the build of a 6.5 RPM off of a stainless Creedmoor

None of my T3's have a recoil lug the gold color of that one. My aluminum ones look a silvery color like aluminum usually looks and the steel ones are a grey color like steel. I am not sure what that one is, did it come out of a factory Tikka stock?

Been gathering supplies, brass, dies, etc. Ended up with a box of Hornady 105 gr BTHP Match bullets. What's the chances this rifle will stabilize them?
