Has anyone given these a shot? Looks pretty damn cool and would probably be great out west.

USA made to boot...

By one of our own, no less!

Yes, I used one on my TMA sheep hunt in 2018.. You won’t be disappointed..
Love mine.
I have one and absolutely love it.
get with it....
Gold.
Have one and love it. Ordered a handful a couple of years ago as stocking stuffers.
I used one in Newfoundland this fall for a moose hunt. I was extremely happy with it.
First I've ever seen it...I'm surprised this isn't listed in the classifieds

Or maybe the guy who Hawks the Paracord slings has the bandwidth about used up

Yeah probably.

I’ll have to order a few. I think my boy would like one too.
I have one and like it. I should probably get one for each of my packs.
I drew up something similar this past summer and 3d printed out a few for my friends and myself. I put ours further down on the backpack strap, but they work very well for keeping your sling in place while hiking.

I meant to post the design on Thingiverse, but got caught up with the hunting season and forgot.

Truth....and getting older and even uglier if that's even possible
I'll never have another pack in the history of mine or my families packs that won't have a Frankenstud attached to it. One of the best, most robust and handiest pieces of hunting gear to ever hit the market.

Todd
I really like them. They work as advertised. I like mine positioned high.

High is the perfect spot!!

Right on top of the shoulders centerline
I have one mounted high as well. Good piece of kit.
They are great.
I just got back from hunting elk using a cross bow. I have one on each side of my pack so I can carry on either side. Crossbows are awkward compared to a rifle. Hiking steep hills at 10K ft and it never slipped off either shoulder.
Was the guy having some kind of fit in the video...I was expecting him to fall out.

Buy a good sling like a Vero Velini sling and you don't have to worry about your gun slipping off your shoulder.

You made me one with OSU on it. I need a couple more when you are making them.

Agree, I need to move mine up, it sometimes gets in the way where it is.

Fit?

Man that was some straight up hippity-hop dance moves with a Captain Insano elbow drop !!

Captain Insano shows no mercy
Just got the tracking info from Ted on the two I just ordered for my packs. Looking forward to using them this fall.
Rex
Looking forward to receiving mine, it's on it's way.
Be giving it a workout this fall.
Im thinking about trying one. I went the kifaru universal gun bearer route a few years ago and Im not making the transition to that from a sling all that well. Thinking about going back to slings.

Egg-zactly.
Received my stud today, looks great, thanks Ted.
Back in 2018 I put one on my Camelbak for our last safari. Worked fine and I wouldn't have enjoyed the trip (post heart surgery) without both water and rifle staying put.
I used mine in Colorado in 2018. I gave my Colorado buddy and his stepson Frankenstuds, too. They work as advertised.

Glad you like your FSK

One at a time....like it was mine!!!
Older thread, but that's alright.

I have a Frankenstud and it worked fine on my older Elberleestock pack, but the straps on my main Kifaru pack just won't allow it to fit right, and I don't want it clean through the padded part of the shoulder strap. I've pretty much moved away from using slings anyhow. I don't like the rifle weight on my shoulder and they're always getting tangled up in random stuff and my rifle is normally either strapped to my pack or when I want to keep it more readily available, I have another holder system that I use for slingless rifles.

I do still use slings sometimes though, and the Frankenstud does work for sure when the pack allows it to.

Thanks Marty
Very generous of you buddy.
I found another use for them over the last week. No pictures, but it works to hold an elk bugle on your shoulder too.

Tied a loop in the string and slipped it over the frankenstud. Could run the tube without ever taking it off.

Called in 6 bulls with the setup.

And no, I do not dance, but it stayed in place going through all the blowdowns.
Received the 2 additional ones I ordered from Ted. Shipped really fast. These will be Christmas gifts for my hunting partners.

They make fantastic Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers.

How did you like the finish on your new FSK's ?
Just got my two. They look very well made and well finished. The website wasn't working for me but I called Ted and he took care of me over the phone. Top service.
Rex

Thanks for the kind words

I make these one at at time and it tickles me to have a happy user.
I'm in Colorado for the next week and away from my lathe but I brought a few assorted colors with me.

Very glad you like them!
I use one I purchased a few years ago along with 4 others that I gave to my sons and son-in-law. They would make great stocking stuffers.
I just hunted with mine for the first time since installing it. Worked great! Love it.
Rex
I just installed my first one 30 minutes ago. Will try it out next weekend.

Too many years of trying to reposition my rifle sling back on top of my shoulder while hunting. Ted’s Frankenstud cured the frustration.

I liked it better when it was called Slingamarig. But is still an excellent device and I just ordered 3 more.

We had the privilege of being a guest on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk Radio last week and I think there are still some of these left.

Plastic tubes and AR15 oil filter adapters crowd it up
I bought four of them a few years ago and gave three to my buddies. Great product and a good guy.

Glad to hear!!

I'm running a package sale with a 3 pack right now
I have said this each time this subject comes up, these things make great stocking stuffers or little gifts to hunting friends. I just purchased a half dozen more to give to family.

Thats Ted for a great product.
