I took the grandson (Landon, age 11 3/4) to Alaska 17-23 July 2018. This was his first trip to the 49th state and he had a ball. Here are a few pictures from out trip. A big thank you to Steve (358 Norma_Fan), Mike (Ironbender) and the fine folks on the Cracker Jack Voyager.

He caught the only Ling Cod that day and it was a 39" keeper.

He also caught the only King Salmon on the boat that day. Here's a pic of his King and Ling with help from Gramps.

Landon the fish slayer! We both had the time of our lives and I watched a young boy become a young man during that trip. Good Times.

Very nice. You done good!
I bet he will not forget that trip in his life time. good of you to take the time for him
That looks fantastic, big smiles all around.
WOW! Thanks for the pictures and story.
This particularly piqued my attention because I have a 12yr old grandson. I also have a son who recently moved to Alaska. This story sure has stirred up some thoughts.
Heck yeah! Looks like a good time had by all!
That's great! I'm glad you got into the fish and had a good time.
Excellent, and that is what memories are made of!

Be sure to triple backup those images, and start scheduling the next do over with a bit more time allowed.
Nice job! I wish we could get lings like that around here! That is a beauty.
He will remember this the rest of his life.
It was good to visit with you again Dave. Glad you fellas had such a good trip.

Landon is a very polite and respectful lad. He is being raised well.

Nice to have you sit around the redneck grill with us too.
Very, very cool.

Ironbender is pretty good to us out-of-staters, but will flat out sneak your beer.

Yep, he is a sneaky sucker!

Jeff
On the other hand if you drink out of his, he hardly even wipes off the spit before carrying on....

But then, I didn’t backwash. Barely. Not much at all .

Mike's a righteous dude ... I brought him a six-pack of a local brew and he gave me one of them. 😉

Perhaps you bastids don't realize I can log on and read your hurtful comments?

My poor feelers. grin
We realize.... 😁
