My youngest said she wanted to kill a bear this year so we have been doing some shooting and decided she was ready.
She did good this evening!

Excellent!

But you must not have read other threads here, one doubting the efficacy of .22-250 on deer and another about .243s on deer being a recipe for failure.

I dunno what they'd think about a young girl killing a really nice bear with a .223.... grin
Congrats to you and the young lady

It is obvious she only used the 223 to club it over the head...note the bloody snout.
Congrats to the young lady and Great Job ...well done to dad!
What a beautiful picture, beautiful girl, beautiful bear. Thanks for making it possible and sharing the pic. I was blessed with taking two bears with my two daughters yeas ago.

I picked up some of those 62 grain Barnes and was going to load them in my AR for a caribou, never did it. Gives me a reason for another rifle, a Tikka T3X Superlite in .223 needs to be in my arsenal..
Nice job dad and daughter! That's an awesome bear! What part of the state?
You created a good hunter in your daughter. Good job Dad. Be Well, Rustyzipper.
Nice!!!!!!!!
Congratulations to your daughter and to her proud dad!
Yea
Bear couldn’t catch a 62 behind the shoulder
Folded on the shot then got up and made a 60 yard dash and was done
Good blood trail
He didn’t know if he was shot with a .22 or a .338
POW
CONGRATULATIONS!
Super.

But, don't ya know, here on the Fire, no way a little ole .223 can kill a big ole bear, just can't happen... blush

Guess it can happen out in the wild with a good trigger puller...

Great story, great trophy. Her smile says it all.

You've created yourself a lifelong hunting pard...

Who wouldn't want to hunt with somone who can shoot like that.

Eskimos love the .22's. They use them on everything from seals to 1,000 lb polar bears. Haven't heard of any of them getting et by a bear either.
That's a great bear
Congrats to the youngster !
Congrats to your daughter, very nice bear.

Tell her congrats on a nice blackie!
Gutted the sixth of the season this afternoon. Four were killed by new bear hunters... all six were kept for meat. Was a good spring for kids.

Oh Yeah.!
Congrats raghorn to the bear slayer.!
Thanks guys
She’s mentioned more than once how many “fawns she’s saved”........ grin
I need to get the video posting figured as the one of her shooting is good !
That kid always has had a way with words
“Ok bear, say cheese ............. Muzzle flash!.......... grin
