Was the 700 BDL SS ever available in any short action cartridges?

I would put a listing in the classifieds. But I would be more likely to either get a Mt. Rifle take off or one from Stockys Stocks. These Coopers look good and at a good price for a Kevlar Graphite composite. https://www.stockysstocks.com/stock...ght-composites-remington-700-stocks.html

I have a SS synthetic BDL in 243 & it has a 24" barrel. Made only a few years this way..........I think.

Just wondering if the 700 BDL SS was offered in short action chamberings.

I used to have a model 700 .243 synthetic stainless detachable mag. It was my main gun for awhile. Very good shooting outfit, I’ve been trying to think of an excuse to buy it back.

I just looked through the 1999, 2001, 2002 & 2003 Remington catalog and the only S/A cartridge was 300saum - first chambered in 2003.

My 700SS in 300Win Mag is my favorite rifle. I bought it new in the mid 90’s and it hasn’t let me down yet. Still shoots 3/4” groups with my favorite Barnes loads. Best rifle Big Green ever made. Big fan...

Didn't ask about the Pope or Catholics.

Yes

10gaugemag: I have 2 (two!) Remington 700's that are short actions and are made in stainless steel along the format of the "BDL" model. In that they have checkering, floorplate and shiny finishes.
Their Model designation IS = Remington 700 LSS (which I think stands for/designates Laminated Stock Stainless).
Anyway my two short action Remington 700 stainless Rifles that shoot "short action cartridges" are in calibers 243 Winchester and 270 WSM (Winchester Short Magnum).
So if I understand the question you posed, correctly, then yes is the answer to your question.
For clarity my two Remington 700 LSS's have the "shiny" gray laminated wood stocks which are very pleasing to me.

The synthetic smooth stainless would be it. Didn't know for sure if they were made in SA standard bolt face. Thanks for the reply.

May be getting close to time to search for one.

The Remington 5R is SS with a synthetic HS Precision stock and BDL bottom metal. It is available in short action. I just purchased a 260.

I've often wondered why SA standard bolt face M700 SS's with the satin finish were so rare during the early production years of the SS rifles. Now I know why. I just went through my Remington brochures from 94-2003.
The BDL SS/Synthetic was introduced in 1994. M700 BDL S/A with the standard bolt face were chambered in the 243 and 6 Rem for one year--1994. They also offered the 223 that year. From then on it was L/A only.

It wasn't until the SUAM's were introduced that they made the 7 and 300 SAUM in the S/A M700 SS DM rifles for a few years.

So S/A M700 BDL SS/Synthetics do exist in the standard bolt face, but it's gonna be a rare bird. I'd like to find one or two myself. The 223 would be interesting too.

Gonna have to keep an eye out for one myself now.
I for sure want a 7 Saum, particularly in the Model 7.
