The Remington 5R is SS with a synthetic HS Precision stock and BDL bottom metal. It is available in short action. I just purchased a 260.

I've often wondered why SA standard bolt face M700 SS's with the satin finish were so rare during the early production years of the SS rifles. Now I know why. I just went through my Remington brochures from 94-2003. The BDL SS/Synthetic was introduced in 1994. M700 BDL S/A with the standard bolt face were chambered in the 243 and 6 Rem for one year--1994. They also offered the 223 that year. From then on it was L/A only.
It wasn't until the SUAM's were introduced that they made the 7 and 300 SAUM in the S/A M700 SS DM rifles for a few years.
So S/A M700 BDL SS/Synthetics do exist in the standard bolt face, but it's gonna be a rare bird. I'd like to find one or two myself. The 223 would be interesting too.

Not being married to any particular political party sure makes it a lot easier to look at the world more objectively... Having said that, MAGA.

Gonna have to keep an eye out for one myself now. I for sure want a 7 Saum, particularly in the Model 7.
