Always one of my kids favorites. They'll eat a full platter of it with brown gravy. I like mushroom gravy with mine.

This recipe is one of the best there is. Guy Fieri Recipe I highly recommend it. Sometimes I make the recipe gravy, other times, when pressed for time I use store bought gravy. Pairing it with grilled veggies and a nice bottle of Beckers's (Texas vineyard) Claret.
My favorite way to eat venison, especially with homemade spaetzle.

I made both spaetzle and red cabbage with some brats the other week. Usually we make German potato salad with the schnitzel.
Please share your spaetzle receipe.

Thanks

I'm with you on the venison. One of my favorite meals. I hammer the venison, but some of my buddies cube the meat. Either way, it's awesome.
Great way to use wild turkey breast as well.
thanks - will try it.

I second this request, and second the second posting too!
3 eggs
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups flour
4 Tablespoons unsalted melted butter
1 Teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Mix eggs, milk, melted butter and salt well. Whisk in flour slowly.

Drip the “dough” into boiling water (we use a spaetzel maker)
When the noodles are floating dip out and drain in a colander.
Sprinkle on the white pepper and nutmeg. Stir in.
Top with a couple shakes of parsley.
Thank You
My old hobart cuber gets used often. Pork, deer, beef

What is the consistency of the spaetzel dough/batter?

We usually fry the spaetzle in butter after boiling.
