Nice. Better than the store bought pre made crusts?
Posted By: New_2_99s Re: Easy pizza - 07/21/22
Yep, we sometimes do those with Naan, been know to use large flour tortillas too, on a preheated pizza stone, in the oven !
Posted By: FatCity67 Re: Easy pizza - 07/21/22
Looks tasty.

When the kids were still here Boboli was the flat bread of choice.

Buying the big pizza oven for the camp chef.

The ones I've tried haven't been great. The Naan was a hit for sure.

Boboli is good but high dollar.

I remember being a kid and Mom had the great idea to do individual pizzas on English muffins. We were so excited only to be let down by how crappy of a crust the muffin was. LOL

Every now and then I get a nostalgic desire for pizza rolls. grin

Wife perfecting her peach pizza. Sierra Nevada Brewery makes one with pancetta that rocks.

Pep with tomatoes and red onions was bomb!

Store bought crusts are too sweet for me.

Don't bother. Had some today at lunch with my grandkids. Gack

Frozen pizza rolls suck even more than they did 40 years ago.

I'm rather impressed nobody chimed in with "your mom's muffin pizza is awesome!"

Thanks guys!

Here's another dessert pizza that sounds weird, but is delicious.

Sweetened Ricotta (recipe below)
Sliced Strawberries, pressed into the sweet ricotta
Basil Leaves, alternate between strawberries
Place some diced strawberries and basil in the center
Balsamic Reduction, drizzle as desired

Sweetened Ricotta:

1 cup of Whole Milk Ricotta
1/4 cup of granulated sugar (or to taste)
1tsp Vanilla Extract (or to taste)
Mix or whip well and reserve for use on pizza

Another one we make is Nutella spread, graham cracker crumbles and drizzle with marsh mellow topping. Tastes like a s'more.

JHC, sorry Higgz.

Pizza still looks good though.

Oh remember the the English muffin pizzas too, also a steady diet of Blacktail buck meat!!! Haha 🤮🤮

Blacktail gets the pepperoni/summer sausage treatment, I’ll still smash English muffin pizza!! Lmao

Jud, give the naan bread a go. It's lightyears ahead of the lowly English muffin!

Doing them again tonight.

Pics in a few.
Posted By: robertham1 Re: Easy pizza - 07/26/22
You guys got English muffins?

I remember white bread, prego sauce, and block cheddar cheese. It was bad then, and worse now.

The naan pizza is a giant step up.
Posted By: Judman Re: Easy pizza - 07/26/22
Ya man momma makes English muffins. Wtf is naan bread??
Posted By: Higginez Re: Easy pizza - 07/26/22
It’s an Indian Flat bread you can buy at the stores. Check it out Jud. It’s pretty bomb and easy to boot.
Posted By: Dude270 Re: Easy pizza - 07/26/22
We tried the Naan pizzas tonight. Put them on the Trager for about 10 minutes, they were awesome.

Thanks Hig!

Right on!

I tried a thinner Pepperoni tonight. Hormel maybe? Thin and crispy. Home grown tomatoes, red onions and some Parnassian on top.

I broke down and bought the Green Mountain Grills pizza oven attachment.

Worth it

Yeah man, just bought the Green Mountain Grills pizza oven attachment. I’ve always hated how the crust cooks quicker than the top. Looks like I can get the top of the pizza how I want it without sticking it under the broiler.

I’ll play with temps and get things dialed for the naan bread. Was really close to perfect tonight after three pizzas.

That Contadina squeezable sauce is bomb as well as the Hormel Cup and Crisp pepperoni.

Hey Hig, do you recall what temp you ran the GMG Trek at with the pizza insert for the naan bread. Those look awesome!

I started at 350 and was too warm imho.

Ended up down at 275 and thinking somewhere around there will be perfect crust/topping nirvana.
Posted By: 32_20fan Re: Easy pizza - 07/27/22
Copy that! Thanks...it's on the menu for this weekend.
Posted By: EdM Re: Easy pizza - 07/27/22
Those look great. If Boars Head pepperoni is available at your grocery store have them slice it thin and give it a try. It is all I use.
Posted By: Higginez Re: Easy pizza - 07/27/22
About 30 min before lunch I turned on the grill and called home and told em to make some pizzas. I threw mine together and we all had a pretty tasty, easy lunch.

I ran the grill at 275 like I suggested and will try 300 next go around. Took a bit longer than the ones we did Sunday night at 350 and weren't any better fwiw.

Thanks for the additional info....those will eat! I have the naan and squeeze bottle in hand and was thinking pepperoni, red onion, and mushroom.

Can't get over the pepperoni and fresh tomato thing!

Thinking 300 degrees is the sweet spot.
