Hi all! I found a rare puzzle in a pawn shop. A rifle that I could not figure out the maker. It was a left hand 375 H&H (the only stamping I could find) with a five lug bolt that opened at an angle even less than a Weatherby MKV. Also had a tang safety and a laminated walnut uncheckered classic pattern stock with a slight target style beaver tail flare to the forend. After searching I think it’s a Dubiel rifle:

It sure looked like a Modern Classic.
Can anyone tell me more about them? Any idea about value?
Thanks!

I've heard of these rifles. Believe there was an era article or two in such as one of the Gun Digest annual publications. Perhaps too, "Bolt Action Rifles", by Frank De Haas/Wayne Van Der Zwoll (Sp?) 'may' have them covered. The referenced Wiki article sounds more like lifted directly from firm advertising hype than objective facts. That said, definitely some informative content. I do recall associating them with considerably pricey rifles and therefore, not in my orbit!

Below, a good 'intro' Website with some historical info, particularly including fact that in over a decade, the firm produced a grand total of 129 rifles & two pre-production models. So the term "rare" may hardly even fit! "Obscure", "obtuse"; broaching "unknown"! smile If you have sufficient data - rifle stats for the one your pinging on, particularly including SN, you might contact Cody & trade such acquired info for their records as requesting info! "Comity!" Frank exchange with 'right party'.

Just speculating... The firm's demise likely on two accounts. Product cost itself re marketplace competition and advertising budget. Beyond the major arms firms, a lot of drum beating $$$ potentially required to ever get such product off the ground in terms of firm's sales/sustained profitability. Nowadays, power of Internet, much easier for "start-ups" to get 'niched'. Crowd funding one great sources. But diverging...

Normally for me, any left-handed bolt rifle as auto 'turn-off'. That one at the right price, might be worthy of a second take.
Good luck and please do return with whatever information gleaned, or reporting 'not'!
Best & Stay Safe!
John

Thanks for that reply and the link John. What range would you say under $1000 starts to be a good value? $750?
