No surprises and everything performed as expected for it's first time out.
I do a barrel break-in
'break-in' process on any new barrel and with that, the copper was gone in two shots and I jumped right to the load work.
There was a fair amount of L-R push and the mirage would flip before the flags moved even with push, so you had to be careful... pretty normal for my home range. A little
run-boil-run had me a skosh late on the trigger for shot #4 and added probably .025 or so of vertical to this one.....aaarrrggghhh.
The bottom target is the same load but testing in the push and let offs scanning for vertical in the load. Basically, you pick a 90 degree wind flag direction to dampen out any vertical that non-90 degree winds can cause, ignore the wind
speed changes and shoot. If done correctly, you'll get a very good indicator on how much, if any, vertical there is in the load along with what I call a 'weather report' group. As you can see, the combination of powder charge, seating depth and neck tension has tuned out any vertical. Once you know this, any 'on target' vertical will be either wind, mirage or shooter induced.
