Specs:
Rem 700 stainless action
Brux #3, 1-8 twist, fluted and cut at 22"
1/2 x 28, threaded muzzle

I used a Hornady OAL Gauge and came up with some numbers for a few of the bullets I have on hand:
75gr A-Max, 2.660"
77gr TMK, 2.570"
80.5gr Berger Full Bore, 2.620"
88gr ELDM, 2.690"

That’s nice!

Matt does great work! He just finished up a PRC for one of my boys, and is working on a rifle for me now. I will wager it shoots...

Very nice work. When do we get the range report?

I plan to assemble some ammo today, but I'm not sure when I'll have time to hit the range. Fishing season is upon us!

That is very sharp!

Hope it shoots as good as it looks

Both near and far.

About as good as it gets for a hunting build - congrats and hope you get to take it out and hunt with it!!

Nice build! I'm thinking hard of one similar is specs

Shot the 22 Creed today. It shoots okay, I guess...

After a few sighter shots to get it in the ball park, here at the first 5 shots for load development. I was shooting 75 A-maxes, with five different charges of RL-26. The last shot was the flier, probably me; the big grin I had probably screwed up my cheek weld.

I'll put some more ammo together and see what they're doing for velocity. I didn't have as much time at the range, today, as I would have liked. So far, though, I like what I'm seeing.

I like that setup a lot. Very nice.

Keep us posted on the velocity findings.

That looks like a really fun build to play with.

22 Creedmoor, that target & RL 26 is reassuring as I have yet to begin work with mine. I have enough RL 26 to last the rest of my life. I am looking real forward to starting load work.

You gotta be excited.

WOW!!! that is some nice gunsmithing!!!! Accuracy doesn't look to shabby either. Well, 1st post to this forum, sir and it goes to a mighty fine "wildcat"!!!

I really like my 22 cm, great performance, mild mannered, no fuss, just a nice cartridge. Sure you’ll be happy with it Dan.

I’m running 75 elds, and 26, alpha brass.👍

Very nice group.

I brought the Magnetospeed with me yesterday, and my velocities were much slower than I expected. I am running 22 CM Peterson brass (capacity = 49.8gr of water) and Fed 210M primers.

75gr Amax (ave of 5 shots)
42gr RL26 -- 2825 fps (ES = 139 fps)
42.5gr RL26 -- 2889 fps (ES = 86 fps)

After seeing how slow they were, I just started shooting one shot each to get a ballpark velocity, rather than waste a bunch of ammo. I'll probably pull the rest, and pump them up a bit for the next range session.

75gr Amax
43gr RL26 -- 3016 fps

77gr TMK
40gr RL26 -- 2640fps
40.5gr RL26 -- 2704fps

80.5gr Berger Full-Bore
40gr RL26 -- 2728 fps
40.5gr RL26 -- 2719 fps

The 88gr ELDs don't seem to like my 1-8 Twist. The accuracy doesn't seem too awful, but some of those holes aren't very round. I did not get velocity readings for any of these.

I’d keep running up the powder charge in .4gr increments until:

You see excessive pressure signs
You run out of powder capacity
You reach published velocities

Whichever comes first.

Wouldn’t give up on the 88s until you’ve tried them at expected velocities.

Those are real interesting holes. I've never had those, they've ever been straight or sideways, not that "close to stable." Speed might settle them down, but be wise and pay attention to that chrono.

I would be pretty upset if that were mine and the 88s were a no go.
