The 1899H hard rubber buttplate? Or the thick hard rubber buttplate?

The 1899H hard rubber buttplate was there with the introduction of the 1899H in 1906.

That was also a thick hard rubber buttplate.. yep. And a few 1895 thick rubber buttplates show up on 1899's because they had some left over.

Do you know how late they stuck some of those on the 1899s? I had just assumed someone replaced the steel plate on my A with one of the rubber ones.

The thick hard rubber 1899 buttplates show up until.. 1911? 1913? Somewhere that late.

The 1895 buttplates only show up on 1899's for the first couple of years, I think.

Thanks.

Mine's 1909/10 - 1024xx. Nice to know it could be the original pad on it.

This is the one on mine. The metal and wood numbers match, but it had no sights when I bought it.
