I want to thank each of you for the knowledge and information you are willing to share with us newcomers. For that reason I will be sticking around for another year God willing and the creek don't rise.

Glad to be here for another year.....
..admitting to be a savage newbie, whose new addiction has been fueled by Fireball2, diamondjim, 300jimmy, and 1899sav and various other rascals around here..
Look forward to learning more and more and probably wont ever buy another savage lever as long as I live.
dave
Alive and still lurking and learning. Thanks to all for the history lessons on Savages. Wishing all a safe year ahead.
I'm still here reading and learning...just leaned the F by the fire after sitting in the snow and minus zero wind chill for a while. Turns out deer were smarter than me but still nice clutching a 99 in the woods.

Happy new year to everyone! Thank you for making this a great place to gather information. Whether reading or posting I know everyone enjoys whats here.
Thank you everyone
Still lurking and trying to "absorb the knowledge," as one of my buddies says.
Yep I am here with one postulate:
If it is stamped 1899, Savage meant them to be 1899's.
Still here, checking the board at least daily!
I'm still here. Just don't post much anymore. getting to damn old. 78 on the 21st of this month.

The thread will come to a halt now, It seems everytime I add to a thread it dies
Come on Johno get your name up
Cheers Graham
Still checkin in you Savages. Happy New Year to all.
Still havent gotten the stock off my F.
Mixed up some vaseline and kroil, hoping it would creep under washer without polluting the wood in the hole. It stayed put, didnt spread, but didnt help or creep.
Bought a Benzo pen butane torch to heat bottom tang, did very well. But did not budge screw. WTF.
Awesome tool, used it to repurpose a burned down candle to make emergency fire starters. $14 at HD.
Holdin pattern. May have to figure out how to drill out screw, if I can get a new one. Not sure I can.
Still here and kicking..... Sometimes not a high as I'd like, but still kicking!!
Steve
Present!
Happy New Year too ALL.
If I had a nickel for every question of ours which has been answered here, we could buy another 1895...
Thank you fellas,
Sunshine and Doug
Best wishes to all, Happy New Year!
Followed some of the guys over to the Campfire years ago from the Gun and Knife forum. Don't post much but learn alot! Mark

Just stepped out of Mr. Peabody's Way Back Machine to sign in.
Hope everyone has a great 2014! Thanks for all the educat'n done here. Having to expand my safe room to accommodate more 99's as purchased 3 more in 2013...driving my wife crazy...(fun ain't it)
Still lurking and learning...

Quietly watching and (hopefully) learning here in the frigid east ( N S )

I mostly read, but yap a little. Short of "Savage Savages" right now, but still have a stable of Savage/Valmets. And just got a nice Savage 220 (no suffix) .410 with the strap-iron trigger guard, which I prefer to the painted pot-metal.
Now, if I can only remember where my .410 snap cap is (if you know 219s or 220s, you KNOW why!).
And I found a decent 12 guage "Four-Tenner" at a garage sale in a trailer park not very far from Disneyland (where I have never been, and if God is Good, won't ever be!). The guy that had it didn't know what it was....it's now in the 12 guage barrel of my Savage/Valmet .222/12.
Looking forward to another great year of learning
"Live long and prosper"...
I'm Back. Sold one of my M1's hopin to pick up a couple rats or a fairly nice pre war 250. As it happens, stuff happened, and the proceeds of the M1 went to the other stuff. I think this is going to be a better year. Happy New Years to all, Joe.
I'm here as well.... I try to check this forum daily, you guys sure know your Savages! Have a Happy and Healthy 2014!
3stars
Still here. Mostly just looking confused and learning what I can.
Still here....from time to time.
Still here and still far from the 'main stream' of Savage collecting - my christmas present to me, from me -
I had the rifle, now I got the target, now I need some of the ammunition - 3/8" bakelite balls.
(do not need to down load attachment - it's the file displayed above).
Still here. I have a 99 and a 19, what else do I need? ;-)
I'm new but guess I'll sign in. Great place !
Whilst you fellas are enjoying the cool period, we are sweltering down here. Best to all for the coming year
Johno

I'm lurking, but trying to get a house sold and move to N. Florida, so not doing much shooting and no hunting. This is still the best forum ever!
John
Haven't been on in a long while but decided to pop in today. Took the 1945 99EG .300 out during deer season, this year. Still waiting for RAS to tell me that he's going to be up North, near NY, so I can meet with him and sell him my 99 EG .308W. LOL.
Am still here, and thanks for all the info.
Just recently joined as a member, but have been hunting with 99's since my father handed me a 250-3000 99EG in original box and original savage box of shells with one round missing 37 years ago. Just found the edge tab of the box the other day in an old ammo bag of mine. Started collecting locker queens around 2006. All my hunting rifles are 99's with a few exceptions. Here to listen(read) and learn......
Still visiting once and awhile. Moved and changed occupations.
Not very well known, but still present.
I`m still kicking and lurking, dam few posts tho ...........
Bob
