As promised, here are pictures of the gun from my earlier post. All comments welcomed. How long is the barrel? The yardstick is even with the end.

I'd say the barrel is about 23" which means it's been cut or a pretty odd special order.

You should have included a picture of the front sight.
Looks like it has been chopped, it should be 26".

Can't see the muzzle and check the sight?
Does this help? I'm not sure where the barrel is measured from. The front of the receiver or back?

OK, barrel length is measured from the bolt face to the muzzle. To get it absolute, stick a cleaning rod down the barrel with the action closed, mark the rod at the crown, withdraw it and measure to the mark.

Yours is ~23" - prolly not factory.
Front sight looks like a Marbles ivory bead, could be factory, rear sight has been changed.
I put a rod down the barrel with the breech closed. It was a CH over 22". What should the rear sight look like?
Don't know the serial number but something like this.

Serial number is 230XXX.
Yep, should be a Rocky Mountain like the one pictured then.
MD,

Rear sight is correct for the serial range.

Gone hunting.
