Many years ago the grandson of the man who operated the Saturn Boone company sold the remaining inventory of scopes and parts on ebay. Stever and I both bought a lot of that stuff on ebay and directly.
I have repaired several of them over the years. They are very fragile and I would sure not rely on one for a serious hunting encounter.
A major design flaw is that the adjustment screws can be turned so far that they slip off the adjustment plate. Once this happens the scope has to be disassembled to realign them. Some of them come apart and some of them seem to have loctite on the threads and don't.
But! no Savage Collector should be without one
