Just wondering if this is the year the event will be held. Never been to one and I thought I might like to go and bring some nice Savage Rifles and Shotguns.
You betcha! Link to stickky post above.

Thanks Mike!

"You betcha" You can take the Boy out of Minnesota, but, you can't take Minnesota out of the Boy. cool
Thanks for the reminder. Just found out that my new home is just 4+ hours from there.

I am going to go this year.
My first time too RAS. Looking forward to meeting our members. Bringing along my 25 yr. old son for some added muscle.
There is also going to be one in the northeast. Myself and Gary are co-hosting one in Noxen Pa. Joe

You guys have all the fun.
Reminder:
Savage Fest 2018 is about a month out and shaping up to be a good one.
I need to know who is coming and how many tables if any.

Be sure to PM Rick99 or myself with names & number of attendees, number of tables, hotels or any other questions.

For those already attending, now is good time to think about what you will bring to the show.
99's, .22's, shotguns, combo's, ammo, sights, accessories, catalogs, memorabilia?
My advice is when in doubt, bring it! smile
What time will the event be wrapping up Saturday?

Trying to decide whether to stay over or drive back to Minneapolis.

Tentatively planning on Saturday night dinner between 4-6pm on site.
It'll be a combination of wild game, potluck and plenty of fix'ins.

We can surely scrape up a plate of food for you a bit earlier if you'd like to get on the road.
Here is the itinerary for Savage Fest;

Friday August 17
setup starting ~8:30am note; This amounts to setting up ~30-35 tables and chairs.
Populate tables and displays as folks arrive
snacks, coffee, water, etc. available and lunch at noon
Crappie fish fry & fix'ins 5-6pm Thanks to GeneB!

Saturday August 18
Doors open ~8:30am - BE SURE YOU & GUESTS HAVE PM'D RICK99 AND ARE ON THE ATTENDEE LIST. NO WALK-INS WILL BE ALLOWED
snacks, coffee, water, etc and lunch at noon
Grilled venison brats, steaks and more w/fix'ins 5-6pm Thanks to Gophergunner!

Sunday August 19
tear down & cleanup 8-9am (another function is using the facility and starts at 9:30am)

Other notes;
1) day travelers with items to display are welcome to tear down Saturday evening vs. Sunday morning
2) GeneB has offered to repair any Marbles tang sights you may have. Disassemble, clean & rewind spring.
3) donations of soda, snacks, water, smoked fish, grill items, etc. are appreciated. PM me if you can bring something.
4) donations for door prizes are appreciated. Drawing Saturday afternoon. PM me if you have something to offer.
5) Security Friday & Saturday nights will be me on a cot. Unless another generous soul would like to volunteer. smile PM me.
6) possibly more notes to follow... blush
Sounds good. For those that are feeding us...THANK YOU!!!
Looking forward to another excellent turnout from the local Savage Collector Forum members.
Wisconsin99, BradD, 1899SAV, Grogel_Deluxe and the rest. Let me hear ya! PM that is.

Darn, I miss those guys! Some of whom I met at the 2016 Fest.
And if hanging with a bunch of swell guys (who eat well) with Savage Arms firearms, ammo, memorabilia and more wasn't enough.
Everyone that checks in at the door gets this one-of-a-kind swag!

Things are shaping up for Savage Fest 2018 and everything is in place less a few minor details.
We have folks that have volunteered for setup, bringing food items, cooking food items, bringing door prizes, providing security and of coarse bringing your prized Savage firearms, ammo, memorabilia and do-dads. Should be fun.

If you have something to offer you can PM me and we'll work it out. Still time.

Thanks for everyone's interest and for pitching in!

yeah, I don't that there are too many on this forum that live out our way. We could do a West Fest but that's a hell of a lot of country to take in!.
I'll be bringing a Lee Loader in 20 gauge to give away for a door prize. Possibly some other odds and ends too.
Just returned from the Fest. Had a great time, and got a chance to faces to some of our member's names. Incredible how much these guy know about all things Savage related. Beautiful guns indeed-not a grey rat in the room. These guys take great pride in the collections.
Darn, if I knew you wanted to see a bunch of old rats I would have tried harder to get there, that's all I have. Gary and I are heading out Friday morning for the PA Get Together. Hope we can share some stories when we get back.

Looking forward to hearing about it, and I hope you guys have as much fun as we did in Wisconsin.

We’re probably going to have a lot more fun as the PA venue is in Noxen, aka God’s Country....
My camp's in between Penfield and Sabula in Clearfield County. I'd have loved to come out and hang with you guys, but I'm up here in Mn. It would have to be a week vacation and I don't have much more than that left for the year, and deer season's coming.
ill be heading to Penn. on Friday Morining with Jerry "Oldotter" Ill be off the net after today, Heading south!
If it was closer I'd be there with you. Appears many attending are from the Forum. Several I had the pleasure to meet at the PA Savage Fest 2016. Based on that experience I know you will have a great time. Any time spent with others interested in Savage rifles is good. May the sun shine and the cooler not go empty.
See you boys on Friday!!

Joe
Savage Fest 2018 is in the books.
The spirit of friendship, conversation, kindness and generosity were abundant.
Lots of laughs and learning as well.
Thanks to everyone who participated whether near or far. Everyone pitched in and it was a total team effort.
Savage Fest 2020 isn't that far away... smile
