Fairly nice shape, finish wise, SN 193541 except that it had the crack that was mentioned in the description and D & T that wasn't mentioned in the description. The auctioneer made sure to point out that the spool, as seen thru the port, was really shiny. Hammered at $950.00. The auction was Zettlemoyer's. They had an ANIB Model 23A Sporter SN 95656 hammered at @500.

950 seems steep to me for what it was. 10% BP plus 6% sales tax plus FFL check put it over 1100 easy.

I picked up a Colt open top pocket model 7 shot 22RF revolver just because, a wall hanger. Made prior to 1880 so BP only. neat little piece.
any other 99's?
That was the only one. Lots of Winchester's, an 1866 went hammered at 5800 . Had a 3 digit SN Model 70 in 257 R but D & T.
Here's a picture of that Colt Open Top. Fit's into the palm of the hand to give you and idea.

Thats a pretty neat little shooter!
you should have given your card to the other 250-3000 bidders and told them you "might know where there are some deals on other good 99s"
Yep steep. But auctions generally are for sellers, not buyers. How many guys bid on it?
Hard to say with it open to internet buyers too.
