Anyone have a project truck under $500.00
welcome, craigs list is your friend.

Thanks , yea, good idea , I didnt even think of that one.
Yep, craigslist! I just bought a 1985 Chevy Suburban 4x4, no dents or rust, good paint, engine runs good, new tires, but bad auto trans for $600.
Bought my project off Craigslist this summer.

If you can travel a bit, possibilities are endless on that thing.
+1 on craigslist.

Be warned though, Craigslist folks just arent all that normal.
craigslist is the fast choice after would be ebay and your local swap sheets

You got that right...I met a real doosy when I bought the grill for my 78 project. He was "out there" a ways.
When I bought the dodge for a donar rig, the guy gave us directions to his house (shanty in the middle of crackville)

He didnt tell us that he just needed a ride across town,to where the truck was at until he was allready in the truck. Took us several days to get the smell of that guy out of the truck.
ick.

sick
how is that project coming? You done anything else to it?
Havnt really messed with it. TOssed around ideas, and covered it with a tarp.

Was waiting for winter to come so I would have a lil time, but Then Layoffs happened. Didnt work last month and this one isnt lookin to good either.

Movin in a few days as well.
I have a 1978 3/4 ton Chevy that used to be a pulling truck! It is sitting with a 400 small block engine, has 4 x 4 and custom steel bumpers on the truck. Engine runs with new radiatior in truck. Edelbrock highrise manifold and Carb!

PRICE is $1,200 dollars American Money!!! Send me a PM if your interested. I use the truck for wood hauling in the woods.
Thanks All...
you find somethin holmes?

Hi bud

No I did not but i will keep lookin , I have a one ton dodge but i cant afford to go anywhere LOL...
Thanks tonkbut im looking for a smaller truck i have a big one now, i need a toy or ranger 4x4, somthin that gets good gas milge. good lookin out though.
Ranger isnt goona be getting very good gas mileage if it has the 4.0. It makes power but I might as well be driving a full size truck, as they roughly get the same mpg.

had a ranger and a Bronco II one with the 2.8 and one with the 2.9. Got fairly decent MPG. Sure felt that the 2.8 had a little more bottom end, didnt keep either one long enough to really work them though.
Man, I can't remember what I got, but I had a Ranger 4x with the 2.9 and I want to say it was around 20mpg.
Thats roughly what I was getting. In My current ranger with the 4.0 I'm getting an average of 16mpg. Has 4.10's and 33's though......
