I have a couple vehicles that I store 3 or 4 months at a time.

I need a recommendation of the type and brand of battery charger I need?

Thanks
Schumacher and deltran (battery tender) are the two manufacturers that I use, no complaints with either company.
Current 😉 thread upstairs. Same topic.

Very helpful.

Thanks
I do the maintenance thing myself with Thirsty the truck for four months after all that security blinker and what ever else the computer is running took the battery down to nothing one winter. What has worked the best for me is one of those trickle chargers that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket on a timer that I program for a couple hours a day.

these are good ones

I have a Shumacher. All my battery chargers are made by them and they are like anvils. U can buy the tender at Wal-Mart for about $20. I've used it for years on tractors, cars, lawn mowers, 6V for the kids Power Wheels ( does both 6V and 12V).

I currently own three different CTEK battery chargers/maintainers. I've used them for several years without issue.

PLUS 1 on the CTEK
When I bought my camper trailer I dd a lot of research on battery charges and ended up buying the OptiMate 6 I use it on the 2x 6v batteries for my camper, generator battery and my truck. It's been great. After fully charging a battery it goes in to a maintenance charge cycle if you leave it hooked up. Got my 6Vs hooked up for the winter right now.
Some of the very best maintenance type chargers are the on board boat chargers. Rugged, waterproof, dependable. They can be bought for 1,2,3,or 4 battery system. I have one ( 3 battery set-up) on my boat that has been on it for almost 5 years. I check the water in the batteries once a year and don't worry about them. Because of the hunting season, I don't fish Oct thru Feb but I don't worry about the batteries being ready when I get ready to fish. I have the Cabela's model but the same charger can be bought cheaper from the company that makes them.
