Been awhile since we've dropped an elk around here.....
Wife headed out Thursday am for first morning of three day cow season, she wasn't out the front door 45 seconds and "boom!"..shocked the puddin' out of me, seemed odd but wife is very careful with her Kimber Montana .308 'on safe' and overall gun etiquette.
So...about fifty yards from the shop on the trail to the back tree stand was a great mature cow elk and my wife beaming ear to ear. Gotta love some acreage and ranch life!
Congratulations to your wife. Good meat in the freezer!
L.W.
Well done, now she 'll say it's too easy, lol
Good eatin there - congrats
Congratulations, well deserved
You're a lucky man, Broomd, in more than a few ways. Congratulations to the wife!
Really great! That looks like a pretty darn big cow! Congrats to your wife.
Congrats to the wife and you. She's either vertically challenged and/or that's a damn big cow. Winner winner of many elk dinner. Fine pics too. What load? MB
She's 5'2''....but yeah, that cow is a chunk; mature elk are big critters!
I walked up on it and smiled.
Factory Nosler trophy grade, 165 gr.
Hell ya, good groceries there, nice and quick. Grats
Not sure you are ever going to beat that time. Congrats!
Outstanding... the best kind of campfire post! Perfect shot placement too
She must be living right! Congrats on a wife who will hunt, a dandy elk and a close recovery!
Is this a record for shortest elk hunt? The best may be the two-track right next to the elk though-no pack frames needed.
That’s outstanding. Congratulations to your wife.
DANG!!!!!!!!!
How come MY elk are not that easy?????????????
(Just aint fair)
Congratulations to her.
The happy pics say it all, congratulations to you and yours!
Congrats to you and your wife. Awesome quarry! Did you weigh the cow elk?
Very well done, congrats!
It will be a winter of great eating for the Mrs. Broomd family
A wife that hunts, carrying a 308 whacks a cow Elk at will & grins.....what's not to love about that!?
Did she choose that gun or did you simply let her pick from your pile?

Well, I'm a southpaw, so that Kimber is all hers. I don't shoot a brake either, she likes the reduced recoil.
I bought it here on the fire about 8 years ago. Been a great gun for her.
Either your wife is a midget, or that is one big cow elk - I'm thinking the latter.
Good on her . . .
Sorry you lost some "puddin'" during the event" (does that mean new bedsheets are in order?
)
Congrats !
Now......the real question...............
Does she know you posted her pic on 24HR ?
Iffin she don't.....you may be gettin' UR azz kicked.....
a lady of fast action .congrats to her
great stuff, looks like you'll be eating well this winter, congrats to her.

Chuckle...she's good with it....
That’s the gravy train with biscuit wheels there. Can’t think of a nicer way to cut up and elk.
Now there's a lady who knows how to get the work done, efficiently and effective.
That first pic is a winner. Congrats to her !
Good for her !!!!!!! However are you sure that's an elk??? Mine all come out in five or six pieces.
there aint a thing wrong with this!
great hunter, easy packout, and a daggum big cow!
two trophies in that picture. well done, sir/ma'am.
congrats to the lady for the harvest, and to you for marrying such a woman!
Wow! Congrats. Looks like she put a great shot on the cow as well. Very cool. Great hunt!
Nothing better than a fat cow! Great job! Close to the shop, that's how you do it!
Nice cow, glad she connected. That’s some good eating.
Congrats, nice cow. Good meat right there.
Why walk so far? Couldn't get the window open? :-)
Great hunt, great place to live. All the Missouri elk were killed during the civil war.
