Not sure which model but the dealer is about $30.00 lees than the S&W Sport. This will just be a truck/tractor Hog and Dog gun. He is gonna mount a Redfield cheapo scope and sling a few rounds. I wit will ould like for it to have a some reliability and accuracy.
The M&P is the way to go. A couple cleanings and a little lubing and it runs all day. When my wife shoots it, it goes through 100 rounds minimum. The thing is she will shoot almost non stop if I keep handing her mags. Not rapid fire but consistent. POI doesn't shift, always feeds and ejects. I have used a 3x and 3-9 Nikon P223 scope on it with great results. For a truck gun I would go with a 3x for it's weight and compactness.
