I have no idea of where the gears of war wall paper came from
That's pure class. I hope it shoots well.
That is class and a classic caliber!!!!!
Looks good enough to eat! Congrats!
Absolutely beautiful! The gun screams class.
I started this during the early stages of the covid quarantine. I had way to much time on my hands and decided I needed no wanted another rifle. I have a thing for single shots and bought a 220 swift as a donor rifle. So far it loves 69 grains of R19 and Sierra 165 BTSP. After deer season I'm going to play with 200 grain Accubonds'
I refer to it as The Covid 19 Super 30.
Thanks for the positive comments it's fast becoming a favorite.
😳 wow! That is beautiful.
I'm curious as to what finish you used on the wood. Also, would you share who did the color case hardening? (I'm thinking of cch'ing an old High Wall receiver.)
I'll have to ask the smith. I know he blends some different ingredients for the wood finish. The same company did the case color on this High Wall which was last years project. Caliber here is 38-55
You win.
Both of those are outstanding!
beautiful rifles! Thanks for posting
Not to derail, but what is a #1 worth if buying to customize.
Cut down, oil soaked stock, a couple metal scratches.
I should to either get stocks or sell it.
I paid $800 for the donor rifle. About 5 years ago I used another #1 for a project and paid in the range of $500-600 for it. I just look on either GB or GI for the cheapest one I could find.
Very nicely done, congrats......would be nice to see a pic of the entire rifle....
Very, very nice! The No.1 is a great platform.
.
Perfect builds, I love English walnut, as well as the 300 H&H and 38-55 WCF, fair weather hunting beauties.
I've revisited this thread 3 more times just to check out the pics. Thanks again for posting.
Guns like this one give me an itch for something of the same.
Beautiful work both metal and wood. Thanks for sharing
I'm a huge #1 fan, like many, and I love what you've accomplished! Been thinking of doing the same for years! Good Luck!
that 375 should clear out your sinuses
Guns like this one give me an itch for something of the same.
Same here. I have a #1 that I could use as a donor.
Who are the top 3 smiths to take on a job like this?
She barked from the blind and a big doe fell to a 165 grain Sierra Game KIng . She was dead instantly no tracking required.. Meat damage was minimal.
