Mine is watching me eat Pheasant cooked with white wine over fries on the couch...

Maybe a bit too close smile

Down in the basement laying in their travel kennels. I just washed and waxed the floors and they will be there for another hour.

I could have put them in the outside kennels but it is hot and muggy out there so the basement is more comfortable. It also looks like rain which, if it does, will mean they get to stay in the basement longer when they go outside.
Right now they are tucked away in their air conditioned kennels for the night after a jaunt around the yard. Each has been fed and are now gnawing on a raw beef rib bone for desert.
Snoozing on the couch. It's a ruff life for the spoiled princess...
Mine's on the couch sound asleep to, she always hits the couch after I throw the ball for her after supper, mine's not spoiled, she thinks she runs my life for me. Rio7
Ones laying on the coach asleep. The other one is asleep in my bed. Hasbeen
She's buried out in the backyard by the fence. I lost my Llewellyn in the 1st week of July. She was 9 1/2. I got her from Bruce-----he's Luv2Safari here on the fire. It still hurts.
All long dead, quit quail hunting in 2004 after 25 years of chasing English pointers
Brittany And also have yellow lab
Lying next to my chair chewing on her rubber bone.
Mine is getting a nap on the patio, prior to going into his air conditioned kennel. It’s hot & humid here!
My PP is waiting for me to come to bed. I had a bit of cancer a few yrs ago. During the treatments, my wife moved to the spare room as I wasn't sleeping well. The dog took her spot and never gave it up. smile

Making a mess of the living room window trying to get the squirrel.
Farting under my desk!
Laying on her mat on the couch in the den.
My stupid Lab won't retrieve. He's probably laying on the couch. Even if he would retrieve, his legs are so screwed up, he can hardly go up and down a flight of steps now.

Ours is in town grocery shopping with my wife. That dog would rather do that and ride in the Toyota than hunt with me.
Sleeping under the table and the other on the sofa.
Snoozing at my feet after his breakfast.

In half an hour, we're headed to the gun club. He kinda likes hanging out with me. smile

Snoring like a drunk sailor.
attached to my wifes hip, sitting on the couch. We took our youngest to college yesterday and stayed overnight in the college town, to move her in this morning. COVID makes it hard to even go to college these days. It was the first night this hunting dog has ever spent alone without my wife or I in his 2.5 years.... he survived but was glad to see us return. He was able to stay in the house because our middle son was here with him, but he sleeps downstairs,,,,
Resting on the bed after a hard day of picking up doves for 4 hunters yesterday morning and afternoon. Unfortunately the corn stubble and hard ground did a number to her pads so I'll have to fetch my own tomorrow.
No gun dog, just a gun shy Boxer.

He is laying here in bed, under the covers with my wife.
I am out from under those covers.
Shows the pecking order! grin
Yesterday -------> Waiting to go to the range.

Right now they’re both asleep in their kennels.

Milo is the dad. He got a dozen retrieves on doves opening morning.

Otis is the son, the “derp” is strong in him. Due to poor shooting he only got one retrieve Friday night.

I have none at this time but my friends do. 😀

Love these dog pic’s. There is no other creature quite like a dog.
Tonight, my dogs are chained up in the backyard barking. I'm hoping they draw one of the coyote family groups yapping at each other close enough to give me a shot. The one is about 400 yards out in the hayfield but is hanging up. The other is 3/8 or so of a mile to the east of the first group and about that distance from the house.

My first setter had this decoy thing down well. He would howl on command and whatever he said it brought coyotes in. All my dogs before and since combined have not brought in half the number of coyotes as he did. I still miss him greatly.
My setters curled up asleep on the couch. 9/15 is the grouse opener here in Michigan and we’ll be in the woods. Like every other setter I’ve had the one thing that he loves more than bird hunting is hunting for a comfortable spot to sleep.
In his kennel at my son's home in Missouri. I had to take him out there when we moved down here last year. Figured I'd go get him about now. Problem is, my 12 yo grandson has turned into a pretty good dog handler and has really gotten into waterfowl hunting.... I already made the boy give me my Les Baer back (at least until I croak.) I don't think I could bear to take the dog now... It's okay, he's a good boy...both of them.
Next to my sons beanbag......and in it when she can get away with it.
I brought my 14 y/o to work with me tonight.... since I work the over night shift and no bosses to tell me I can't....

he rewarded my by pukeing up a whole belly full of puppy chow he stole from the other dogs dish before we left the house....

Always fun cleaning up dog puke....

fugger....
My two are laying on their beds here in the office. They both just got done chewing on their raw beef rib bones and now they're all stretched out.
Golden Lab, Gus. Was 12 when he died. He was a good boy and loved chasing pheasants. RIP old boy. Miss him every day.
Mine is on a bookshelf in the dog version of an urn.....waiting for my ashes to be scattered with hers....
Downstairs in her unlocked kennel.
They are all in the kitchen hoping the cook drops something..
I’d love to say he’s in his usual spot by my recliner or on his bed but unfortunately 2020 took another shot and we had to put him down due to cancer after he became sick last week.

Licking the ice cream bowl clean.
Laying between us on the bed. We are spoiling her rotten. She is 15 and has cancer on her spleen. Lost her sister last spring. She gets anything she wants.
Eating rice crispy treats right now😀

Right at my feet chewing on a big bone. Beagle

Gave away all the pointers about 15 years ago. I miss quail hunting sometimes.
We have now moved into winter snow fun....let's play.....

Just saw this thread.....sorry to hear about girl Rio7. You definitely won't replace her but I hope you have another puppy on the ground or in the works. You deserve each other and your old girl would approve.....

We have three GSPs in the house and my newest girl loves to get out but is a total snuggle-bug at home! She has some REALLY big paw prints to fill but I have high hopes for her......

Still hiding in the kennel/crate after all the yellin' at the Georgia-Alabama game last night
My female GWP is somewhere in Florida winning show after show and looking beautiful. My male GWP and I are here anxiously waiting her return.
My yellow lab is trying to find something to eat. Ice is hard on a retriever and he got plenty of it this weekend, picking up straps full of ducks. When I got home from work, wife said he's done nothing but sleep and then get up and beg for food.

I gave him an extra serving tonight and a few pieces of salmon off my plate, mixed in. He nerds to rest up, we are about to do it again.
In Lafayette GA getting bird dog trained by Rick Hopkins at Walnut Hill Kennels. Miss “Dame” my little Vizsla terribly. Like my brother says, I drove too far (Atlanta to Sioux Falls) and paid too much (😱), but I do dearly love that little girl.

At school.
Belle, my 8 year old lab is lying next to my chair with a wet towel over her to keep her cool in this oppressive heat. Have the fan on her plus the towel to keep her comfortable. She is a hunting machine. MTG

They're a great breed. I miss my vizsla
Mine is at the vet.....got a troublesome cyst removed from behind her neck above her shoulders......

Gonna let her board there till the incision healing is on solid ground.....

Reason being a 7 month old pup is waiting to go all Kato on her when she gets home......

It's a real challenge to keep those 2 separated.....
Mine is in Montana hunting over wild birds everyday for the month. I'm jealous.

Yeah, dogs are also just fetching or sniffing machines to me as well, I never get attached to them either. <sarcasm off>

I think I recall a picture of one of your Llewellins (I think the name might have been Rocky) looking adoringly up at a young boy (who might have had some kind of grouse or partridge in his hand)

It was a beautiful picture - and a beautiful dog!

Could you post it again? I had no luck searching for it.

One is asleep next to the air conditioner, one under the ceiling fan, and the other on the ground at my feet. They look like they are asleep but if I even think of moving they are at attention before I can even stand up.

Woodcock season opens the 24th so it is close to go time and I think they know it.
Sitting in my recliner watching TV.
One is sitting on my leg, looking out the window. The other is at the end of the same couch, curled in a ball...
Three weeks ago, waiting for me to flush a gopher with the garden hose. Hopefully in a better place, had to put him down today due to cancer. He was one of the great ones![Linked Image from i.imgur.com]
Mine went back to bed. He doesn't know we're going bird hunting today. Thinks I'm off to work.
Waiting on me to take him for a ride.

Up in bed with my wife sleeping in. 2 Chocolate Labs. They wait for me to get up (early riser) then jump up and replace me.
My Beagle is happily snoozing on my lap. No doubt dreaming of rabbits, lol
Zofia the Beagle is on the couch watching the Packers and Dolphins
Emmy and Rosie are in bed next to my wife.
Going off the wall because some Deer have the nerve to walk on their backyard.

hunts that old gray face dog reminds me of mine. and why i cain't get another
My Airedale and I did some duck retrieving training, now she is chewing on an elk leg, laying next to me as I relax on the couch before work
Frolicking around the kitchen/living area with a chew toy. She’s 1 y/o now and makes a general nuisance of herself to the 11 y/o dog. She’s the most challenging Lab I’ve worked with so far. Everything’s a process with this dog. Lucky thing for her that she’s cute! 😁

Going to run the pup in a bit, to make sure he snores in his crate this afternoon too.

Here you go. Radar-nose Rocky was 100 pounds of devotion.

+1
Plus 2. Just fantastic.

Great thread all around.
First off, I doubt my brindle colored Pitbull/Lab mix named Reggie could be classified as a Gun Dog. He is, by legal hunting aspects -- UNTRAINED. Rabbit hunting? He's tear the rabbit to pieces. Squirrel hunting? Same thing. Deer hunting? He'd take off after the deer and never be seen again. Hell, he'd probably be out in Buckingham County come nightfall, you know?

Anyway... Getting to the point: Whenever it gets cold here in Virginia and my wife and I light a fire in the fireplace. Reggie just has to lay right there on his bed in front of the fire. What a life!

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]
Lab is sleeping in her crate. Elli just finished her walk and is satisfied with life as she put up a grouse.

Never have figured out the photo bit. Appreciate the fact that others have.
Mine’s sleeping it off - we shot 20 quail over him this weekend.

He's doing a great job, IMO. Someone has to hold the flooring down in front of fireplaces. I want his job.

Mine is at the front window waiting for me to come home, which should be right now. It's "going for a walk" time when I get home.

He doesn't know I'm working late.
By the corner of my desk. She's chewing on a Nylabone and leaning against my ankle. She comes to work with me most every day.
