Was over there yesterday, and again they proved they are one of the best for most things Gundog related, along with a few nice firearm offerings. Had a couple tempting SxS's, a few O/U's, along with some nice revolvers and rifles. If it is Gundog related they most likely will have it, along with CS that would be hard to exceed. Bought a new tracking collar...Garmin Alpha 200i, which is a pretty amazing unit. They paired my old collar to the new Garmin transmitter, which saved me from buying the entire unit and spent the good part of an hour going thru all the different functions. Along with going outside in the rain with me to ensure it was doing what it was supposed to do. In addition to giving me a better than fair trade-in on my old transmitter. Have bought from them in the past and it seems they just keep getting better. They deserve a look for your hunting Dog needs.

Don't think I ever left a dollar there, but I've stopped in several times.
Nice place, always treated well.

You ever stop at Joel Etchen on 30?
Little different deal, only shop I've ever seen where everything is
in the vault, and you shop there. Front door always locked!

Wonder if they have had problems, or if the value just has them paranoid.

Joel is perhaps an hour from me. Used to date a girl from that area that was friends with his wife. Also shot with a friend who knew Joel well. So went out to dinner with them a few times. Have also hunted with Joel and shot clays with him when he invited me to shoot at his club. He is not one to bet against on a trap field. He has some standard Beretta and Benelli shotguns; then as you know he has some that go way above the standard.

Never knew them to have any break-in issues...More along the lines that he is being proactive.

You aer a shotgunner, I just shoot one once in awhile.
Not sure I'd open my case in front of a guy like that!

Joel’s Grandfather and Father were two of the most well known shotgun Champions of their day. From trap to skeet to multiple World Flyer Championships.

LCS is a place I've always wanted to check out but never have. I scroll their gun inventory on the website pretty regularly. I fear I could get into trouble if I actually went there. LOL !!! It's not that far. Will just make the trip someday, I'm sure.

Don't know where you are at, but...
60 miles south of LCS is Cove Creek in Bedford.

9 miles East on US-30 (gonna go past our shack blow the horn, I'll hear it)
in Everett is Lock, Stock, and Barrel. Not too big. AR heavy.

2-3 miles East, Juanita Trade is a good stop.

Go 6 miles to Breezewood jump on I-70 East.
Exit Hancock MD. 30 miles?
Hendershot's is a darn good stop.

Murrysville….

Heard good things about Cove Creek and especially Hendershot’s. Friend lives in Claysburg so I should visit Cove Creek. Can’t be far away.

Go past Breezewood and use 70 on the way to Chestertown… would be another way to break up the trip.

Was at Cove Creek this spring. Definitely NOT what I was expecting.

Thanks for the tip, Harry. I’ll be ordering a couple items from them for the trip to S.D.

Wasn't expecting to go into an old building,
through a very expensive, snobby, store selling casual wear, ($80 t-shirts)
down some stairs. into a rock walled basement?😂😂😂😂

Years ago that was the Army Navy store.
Owned and operated by the current owner/family.
They changed the name to American Outfitters,
then expanded at a huge rate, out to several other states.
The kids all lived big, didn't hold real(productive) positions...

It went tits up.

See how much they owed?

Within months, Cove Creek opened in the store Dad started with,
and owned seperate from the bankruptcy.

I went in after they opened, all the high dollar stuff behind the counter was
there. I heard the Old Man talking to a local finish carpenter about
building the racks across the room. "We need them, the boy has over
100 "cheap" guns in boxes we need to get out." I looked at the Over/Unders,
about 12' of them, no junk. Started with low end Brownings and Berettas,
Merkel was present. My mind immediately started running numbers in the
inventory.

Maybe I'm off the mark, but it pissed me off to see them walk away
from so much debt to suppliers, but have the money to remodel,
open that basement (never used for retail before), and buy inventory
like that.

Don't go there personally, recommended it only because many folks are
internet fans of the place.

EXACTLY this !!!!

Did not know the Paul Harvey part. The REST............of the story. But I remember American Outfitters well. Thanks for the good "bringing up to speed" !!

What a breath of fresh air! I had a great experience in dealing with these folks. Order was taken by an American that I could completely understand. Dude knew about their product line and cared about the order. I’ll be buying from them again for sure. Thanks for putting us on to them, Harry!

Can't say enough good things about LCS. They are extremely helpful with anything gun dog related and have a good consignment program on guns you might want to get rid of.
