Was at Cove Creek this spring. Definitely NOT what I was expecting.
Wasn't expecting to go into an old building,
through a very expensive, snobby, store selling casual wear, ($80 t-shirts)
down some stairs. into a rock walled basement?😂😂😂😂
Years ago that was the Army Navy store.
Owned and operated by the current owner/family.
They changed the name to American Outfitters,
then expanded at a huge rate, out to several other states.
The kids all lived big, didn't hold real(productive) positions...
It went tits up.

Within months, Cove Creek opened in the store Dad started with,
and owned seperate from the bankruptcy.
I went in after they opened, all the high dollar stuff behind the counter was
there. I heard the Old Man talking to a local finish carpenter about
building the racks across the room. "We need them, the boy has over
100 "cheap" guns in boxes we need to get out." I looked at the Over/Unders,
about 12' of them, no junk. Started with low end Brownings and Berettas,
Merkel was present. My mind immediately started running numbers in the
inventory.
Maybe I'm off the mark, but it pissed me off to see them walk away
from so much debt to suppliers, but have the money to remodel,
open that basement (never used for retail before), and buy inventory
like that.
Don't go there personally, recommended it only because many folks are
internet fans of the place.
