We grow some every so often. Cows like it.

Been feeding if for years, our cows love it. Don't seem to have any nitrate issues.

The oat heads will spoil them though, they often get picky and snub the stem!

The hard part is cutting it at the proper time.

As to the title, isn't that Buckwheat's signature line?

I feed some oat hay, but not to much because they get to feeling their oats and get in trouble. wink laugh

That is the problem around here. When it is prime time cut, it starts the monsoons and you lose it all.Too early and it is not mature enough. Too late and it is heads and straw .Good feed if put up right though.
