Can anyone identify this bolt? I think the rifle was chambered in 6.x55 Swedish. It has 727 written on the bolt handle.

Looks like a M94 or M38 Swedish Mauser bolt. Seems to have had some of the bolt handle ground for scope clearance? The crowns kind of look like Carl Gustaf stampings from what I can see.

Swede bolt that some one cut the handle off of then welded it back on to try to make it scope friendly.

Without a forensic analysis of what befell it, this explanation good as any theory. The net-net; "sporterized"!

I think what happened is pretty self-explanatory. Look at the underside of the root, yo can see the weld. The numbers on the bolt handle are on the top of the ball from the factory. On this one, they are on the bottom.so. the handle was cut off and welded back on to gain amore sporter like appearance and function.

M96 Swedish Mauser bolt, the telltale is the end of the cocking piece with the ā€˜Lā€™ shaped knurled handle.

Really smooth actions those.

Cheers.
