I bought an S4 last year, mostly because my wife and stepson bragged about them. I use a 10x42 Swaro SLC, and I was tired of flipping off the lens caps and then having to put them back on when I started moving again. The S4 did not keep dust from accumulating on either the ocular or the objective lenses. There was probably not as much dust as if I just did not have the lens caps on, but definitely more than I wanted.
FWIW, I am trying the Alaskan Guide this year.
