This year we are going late in the season. In the fall they undergo hyperphagia like a bear, and big ones are in a hurry to eat a bunch...( Theoretically...)

At any rate we catch a larger number of all sizes in the spectrum in August than we do in june.....so more 9s, 10s, 12s etc...


My old fella used to fish for pike alot..He always swore by a lure that An imitation of a small pike as larger pike are very canablistic/terrirorial..

This was in the days before modern soft lures so he carved and hand painted two out of wood. One was set up as a floater, and the other to sink.

I have no idea where they ended up, but knowing him, they were probably loaned out and forgotten about..
