It's pretty thick here at home, so about the only places you can stretch things out are gas line ROWs or timber clearings. I hunt ROWs a good bit and one real problem is the time allowed for the shot, things happen in mere seconds. There's no glassing, ranging, etc like when I hunt open areas in other states, so it takes a little different approach. In recent years I've become fond of fast carts for the task such as the 257Wby or a 300WM pushing 130TTSXs quite fast. The ability to hold on hair to 400 just makes things much easier:

The next rifle for the task is a 7STW that Robert Gradous is wrapping up this week. Last night I put together several loads and first up to bat are 120TTSXs:

It should sting our little ole whitetails a bit laugh

This is my first go with the STW and hopefully she'll be a shooter.

I'll post up some pics when the new rig lands. Hopefully I'll be able to get a little blood on the new rig when pullit, slg388, and I head to TX next month.

Fellow STW shooters, what are some of your favorite combos?

After browsing the books yest eve, I'm starting with 120TTSXs, 150NBTs, R17, R22, R25, 7828, and H4831.

Have a good one,
